I have not received a letter from my child since then.  I was told back in April that Fernendo was not affected by the earthquake.  I normally get letters from him every 1 or 2 months but I expected the earthquake to slow down communications for a while.  Eight months later, I still have not received  anything, and am starting to worry.

Vicki, I'm so sorry that you haven't heard from your sweet boy in so long :(. I hear your love and concern for Fernando. Please rest assured that Fernando was not affected by the earthquake in April. However, you are right; this disaster did cause some delays at our field office with processing letters. Regardless, you definitely should have received a letter from your kiddo by now, so I have sent an inquiry to the field office. Our wonderful field staff will ensure that Fernando is doing well, and they will ask him to write you a letter. It will take 6-8 weeks to receive a response, and we will be in contact with you as soon as we hear back from them. Thank you so much for your prayers and patience through this devastating situation. God bless you!

Thank you for your help.  Actually I just received a letter today! Sounds like he is doing well.  That's a relief.
