I need to cancel my sponsorship (2 sponsor IDs). I sent an email to socialmedia@compassion.com on 1st September, but I've yet to receive a reply.

They don't have weekend hours, so that's why you haven't heard back - and it was a holiday weekend at that. I'm sure you'll hear from them soon, now that the weekend is over.
