I would like to help my child's family. How can I find out what their particular need at this time is? I realize I have to do this through Compassion but I need to know how to give money for the correct need. another thing if something should happen to me how can I give him a "farewell gift $"?

Good morning, Kay! Welcome to the Compassion family as I see you just began sponsoring Alies with us in the Dominican Republic! I'm so blessed and encouraged by your heart to help your boys family. I was actually having a conversation with another one of our sponsors just the other day regarding family gift options and the needs your child's family may have. I'm hoping the explanations Susan and I gave in that conversation will answer your question and help you out when deciding how you'd like to give to your child. But please let me know if you have other questions about gift options or need further clarification.

Regarding future planning, I think it's awesome that you want to plan ahead in your giving to Alies! This is common and an option many of our sponsors choose. We normally recommend that this be something you put in your
Will and we will ensure your child receives the donation you plan to give him in the case anything were to happen to you and you could no longer support him. Compassion’s Planned Giving Team can work with you on the logistics and details of how to go about preparing for this. To discuss this further, you can contact Rachel Moser at 855-315-5019 as she's our expert in this department and will be able to provide you the best advice and assistance as you consider providing Alies with a future gift.

I am praying for health and strength for you for many many more years :).
