I'm thinking of sending a family gift, and I really want to get a picture. I've read that the minimum amount I need to give in order to receive a picture is $60, but the drop down menu on the site as increments of $25, $50, then $75. if I send $50 dollars will I still get a picture? if not, how do I get around the drop down menu and send $60?

You can either call and ask to send $60 or mail in a check. If you have a credit card on file you could also email Compassion at socialmedia@compassion.com and ask them to charge that amount to your card.
If you send $50 they do not have to send a pic.

Most of the time I've given, I've called Compassion.  I prefer to give gifts over the phone because I don't trust the web.  The web could glitch and send the payment twice, so I get charged twice... or not send it at all...  You just never know!  I also know my instructions are conveyed clearly.  If I want her to have some of her "Favorite Candy", and "Pink Hair Ribbons" for her birthday.  I can convey those instructions directly to compassion.  That way if my "Gift" is lost.... It's not lost on my end... and I know, that I know, it made it to Compassion!

I sent in a $60 gift a few months ago. Would someone please check and see when my picture is due and if my teen received the money?

Mary, you should receive a thank you and photo within 6 months of sending the gift. If it's been longer than six months, Compassion will look into it for you. :)

Mary,
It can take up to 3 months before the gift ($60) gets to your child, and another 3 months for the correspondence to get back to you. You can always call compassion, or send an e-mail to socialmedia@compassion.com.... at least I think that's the e-mail.

SOMEBODY CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG! LOL!!!

Angelee, your answer was perfect! :) Yes, it takes 2-3 months for gifts to be delivered and 2-3 months for the thank you letter to travel to you. If it has been longer than six months, please call (800-336-7676), email (ciinfo@compassion.com), or post here to let us know so we can look into it. Also, Emily or I can be reached at socialmedia@compassion.com. :)

Hey Mary! It looks like you sent your very generous gift June 9. Because it can take up to six months to receive a thank you letter and photo, we will have to wait until December 9 to send an inquiry on this gift. I know that gift must have been a huge blessing to Mukeshimana and I can't wait to hear how she used it! :)
