Few letters from child (one) since starting sponsorship in July. From my last child there were many.

Hi Charles! As a fellow sponsor, I know how frustrating that can be! Compassion only guarantees that you will recieve two letters a year from your child, but that you may recieve as many as six. One of my teens writes me almost every month, while a few of my other children write me less frequently. It can take a while to develop a regular, back-and-forth rhythm. I would encourage you to:
1. Write your child regularly - at least 3-4 times a year, but preferably more often!
2. Ask him or her specific questions they can respond to
3. Remember that if it is a younger child, you might hear from them less often, but their letters are no less valuable!

If it becomes more than 6 months between letters, the Compassion Support ladies are happy to send an inquiry to your child's center. Just let them know.

Thank you for investing in your sponsored kids, Charles!

AMS, thank you for your great reply! Charles, thank you for your inquiry, as well. Everything AMS said is exactly correct. Since you have been sponsoring your child for only a short amount of time, then I would definitely encourage you to give it some time to get in the rhythm of regular letter writing with your child. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you! We are so thankful for your commitment to support and write to your child. :)
