When I updated my compassion app, my oldest child no longer shows up. I believe he aged out of the program, but I was previously told I'd be notified when to send a final letter. That did not happen. Can I still send a final letter and gift even though he no longer shows up on my account?

Hi Carla! I believe it is Antonio that you are talking about? If so, yes, we just received the information yesterday that he has graduated from the program. You happened to notice he was off of your account before we were able to contact you regarding his graduation, which is why you haven't heard how to write a final letter.  You still have the option to write a final letter and give a final graduation gift to him, but you won't be able to do so through the app or website. The final letter must be physically mailed to our address. When doing so, please write the words "Final Letter" on the top of your letter, along with your sponsor number (2098896) and his child ID (GU9550377).

I spoke with Lydia by phone. She said I still had time to hand write a final letter.

I had a related question.  I need to send a final letter to my sponsor child who also aged out of the program.  Can you tell me how to send a monetary gift?  I want to make sure it gets to her specifically.

Hi Janna! You can send that monetary gift along with your letter or call our office to give it. Do make sure that you include a note that says the check is for a final graduation gift for KE035600297 so that we are able to process it and send it on to Lucy specifically :). She will be so happy to receive your final letter and a special gift from you!  The address to send the letter and gift to is:

Compassion International

Colorado Springs, CO 80997

Hi, I had a similar question but was given different information. My child and I wanted to stay in touch, but I moved apartments, and believe the final letter from her got lost in the transition. Is there any way to receive a copy?

Also, I called compassion in tears because of this. They took my email address down and said it was up to the sponsored child to reach out. Is there anyway to find out if she has tried? I’m so sad, we had a wonderful chain of letters over the course of years. It feels like a true loss.

Caroline, was it Monisha in India who you sponsored? I am so sorry for the loss of your connection and sponsorship with her :(. It does look like the last letter we had in the system from Monisha was written in August 2015 before Compassion began to go through struggles with the government in India. I am so sorry, but we don't have a copy of this letter, nor do I see any letters in our system from her since then.
