I just noticed that a corespondent child was added to my account. Is it ok to go ahead and write him, or do I need to wait for an "official" email from Compassion first? I was surprised to see him so quickly, because I just asked about being put on the list yesterday! :)

Congrats!!!! I'm not staff but I've had a lot of correspondents and you are definitely okay to start writing them.  In fact I don't usually get any official email, usually a snail mail package arrives a few weeks later.

Also, if you haven't yet, be sure to email Compassion and they can send you any previous photos of your child that were taken in the past (if the child has been in the program long enough to have any)
