First letter from sponsored child

We received an introductory letter on our first correspondent child. Angel on the 12th and now we have a letter in translation from our first sponsored child, Ruth.  Yay!

For those wondering,  Angel's letter took 32 days from the date of sponsorship, Ruth's took right at 50.  Both are really close to the country's center so that may have sped things up.

The fastest I've ever received an introduction letter (through the app)  is the same day I was assigned as correspondent.  But it does run the gamut. I've also had one go right out almost to the 6 month mark (6 days short) when one can request a inquiry be sent.  I also had my first sponsored child leave the program between the time I sponsored her and before the introductory letter could be sent :(  Made me wonder if having to write caused her participation to be increased to the point her parents no longer wanted her part.

great info sarah,  I imagine it does vary greatly by project and the timing too.  Our first sponsored child actually sent her first letter and answered almost all of our questions we asked in me, my wife and daughters 3 letters.

I think it helps new sponsors and potentially new sponsors to have this kind of info out there (sponsors relaying their experiences).  That was one of my concerns before signing up, length between letters but being able to send the letters through the app definitely helped out.

I have sent two letters to both my boys so its good to know they might reply to them. One is 5 and 14 so Im hoping the older one will answer questions and ask some of his own. It has been almost a month since the first boys sponsership

out of the 9 letters we have gotten back from our kids,  the average is about 55 days from the date of sponsorship. still waiting for our first "second" letter from a child.
