ok, I doubt this would work, but thought that I would bring it up just in case... it would be cool if sponsors had the option to donate money that would be set aside for college for the kids, or if they do not choose to go to college, it could be given to them for when they are married, or to start a business, or something else. like I said, I doubt it will work but if it does I would be interested! I can not afford $300 a month for when they are in college, but this way I could give a little at a time and hopefully be paid for if they do decide to go to college, and if not then for something else.. let me know if I could ever do that :)

Anna, you can save up and give them a graduation gift for when the graduate from Compassion, or if you kids end up in college, you can always give them part of the saved up money as a child gift.    Also, the program you speak of that costs $300 a month is slowly being done away with, and almost all the countries are changing the regular program to age 22.  That was a special program for some of the college students, but many of the Compassion kids go to college, several of my sponsored kids are in college right now (and I am paying the regular rate of $38).

Hi Anna! We are not planning to offer a formal fund for a child's future. However, as Debbie pointed out, you are more than welcome to save up for a graduation gift or final gift for your child. Also, in some cases, adolescents and their families will opt to start a bank account with gifts from their sponsor so that they can begin to save for university or other future expenses. You can certainly request that they use the gift for this purpose.
