When giving gifts, can I give more than twice a year if I don’t exceed the 200.00 limit?

Hi Mary! Thank you for your generosity and desire to bless your sponsored child with special gifts. Compassion has guidelines regarding the total gifts that can be sent to a child each calendar year in order to keep the child/ family from becoming a target due to jealousy and to make sure they are not becoming dependent on the gifts. Regrettably, as a sponsor, you may send your child only up to two gifts up to $100 each, one for their birthday and one as a general gift. However, you are able to send gifts to your child's family to benefit the whole family. A family gift can be given three or four times each calendar year, from $25 up to $1000 total.
