I had a Compassion presentation scheduled for a church on 02/17/19. When the child packets arrived a few days prior, I saw that all of the children were from Burkina Faso. I thought it was somewhat odd, since, at other times when I've received packets, they come from a mix of countries. When I arrived at the church, my liaison - also a Compassion sponsor - informed me that the pastor's wife had been a missionary to Burkina Faso with her family many years ago. After the presentation the pastor's wife offered to teach anyone who sponsored a child a few phrases in mossi when they write their letters. 5 of the 10 children were sponsored that day! Praise be to God for the unusual ways in which he works!
