Hello, Ladies! I've been seeing a lot of comments about the flooding in Haiti and know that a fair number of Compassion families have been impacted in some way. If either of my Haitian children were affected, when would I expect to hear of it?

Hi Linsday! I appreciate your care and concern for your sponsored child in Haiti. The rain that caused the flooding in northern Haiti in early November has stopped and the water level has decreased. A total of 10 student centers, 760 sponsored children, and 46 Child Survival mothers and babies were affected. However, all of the children have returned home and most are back in school now. Disaster Funding was dispersed to help provide food and health and hygiene education on how to prevent water-borne illnesses in the aftermath of a flood. We received a full child list November 9 and have already contacted sponsors whose children were affected by this disaster. Your two children in Haiti were not impacted by the flooding.
