I have not heard anything about Jackson HA 708. I was told awhile back that he was not on a list but since have not heard anything else. I have not received a letter since August and realize the hurricane is causing a problem but I still do not know his status, or his families situation. Any information would be appreciated.

John, I appreciate your care and concern for Jackson. Neither Jackson nor his center were not affected by the hurricane or the flooding afterwards. It does look like it has been four months since the last letter from him but one is being written right now and another one is in process. I trust you will receive both of these letters in the coming months.

I did not receive notice from Compassion after the hurricane in October, but called a few weeks afterwards and learned from the phone rep that our young man in HA0634 and his family were indeed affected. If I remember correctly, the rep said their home was damaged and they were living with someone else, and the Compassion center he attends was also damaged. I have not heard anything since that time, and the most recent letter from Jean Baptiste was dated June 22. I imagine the ongoing recovery efforts may slow letters down, but am wondering if you have any additional info in the system about whether his family is able to live in their home, whether the center is able to function fully, or if there might be a letter in process.

Debi, I am so sorry you have been waiting so long for a letter form Jean Baptiste, especially after the hurricane in October. It looks like he wrote a letter in December but this letter was sent back for corrections. Now there is a new letter in process but it hasn't made it back to the country office yet. Regrettably, there are also no additional notes other than the update we gave you in October. Although, I see he wrote the letter at the end of June, it looks like it was delivered in August and that is the date we regrettably go off of. This means that it is just shy of six months since the last letter. However, since there was a significant crisis that he was affected by, I just sent an inquiry to check on him and see if we can speed this letter along.

I know Haiti is doing a lot of recovery work, and while I think of this young man often and am extra-eager to hear from him after the hurricane, simply knowing that he wrote a letter two months after it is reassuring. Thank you for checking on this, Susan!

I am with both Jon and Debi, we have not heard anything about our son Pierre Johnsley (HA075800144).  I have checked the site multiple times but cant seem to find anything out.  I realize that this is a very tough situation, but this momma is worried! :-)

Mike Beth, Pierre was not affected by the hurricane. Regrettably, I do not see any letters on the way from him. That said, it has been quite a while since the last letter from him. I am sending an inquiry to check on him and ask that he writes another letter to you as soon as possible.
