Has the new system slowed down letters from children?

I know the new system was supposed to speed up communication between child & sponsor. But prior to the change, I often received regular letters - I could anticipate that it was time to expect a letter and one would show up. Now, I am seeing a longer wait time, with no letters showing in translation. I am also not receiving thank you's for family gifts in a timely manner (or at all - it remains to be seen).

Is this a temporary problem? Things were better before the change.

Beth, I completely echo your comments.

I will say one thing that I see today that is positive - I see this morning that a bunch of my ET letters to my kids have processed - they are out of translation and complete - there are still some older ones and some newer ones that need to be processed, BUT, this is the first day I've seen letters actually moving.  India is another story - nothing is moving - I know there are other issues with India, BUT, the letters are supposed to be moving still.

I personally think that some of the countries have not had the children write - I have kids that I haven't heard from in over 6 months - some more - these kids wrote regulary before.  Now, I wonder if some of this is due to my letters not being processed, thus, there aren't any reply forms (for the children) being generated - I'm not sure.

PS - I just checked my IN and EI letters - some of them have processed.  What is disappointing is for example, on an EI young man that I have about a dozen letters that have been in translation, waiting to be processed, they have processed one letter from May 19 - leaving several that go back as old as April 13.  BUT, as I've glanced at some other IN,EI kids - there are some positive signs here also with at least a letter or two being processed.

Beth, since we are experiencing some issues with the new letter writing system, at this time, some letters are still taking approximately 2-3 months to be delivered, each way. Our team is working very hard to get these issues correctly. As these issues are fixed, you will start to see letters moving through the system faster, and you will start to receive letters from your boys sooner than before. I definitely understand that it is a difficult time right now, and we thank you so much for your patience as work on perfecting this new system. This is just a temporary problem, and you will begin seeing the benefits of the new system, soon.

If it has been 6 months since a gift was processed, and you have not received a thank you letter for that gift, please let us know, and we will be happy to send an inquiry to their project to verify the gift was received and if a thank you letter is on its way.

Beth, I don't see any of the thank you letters or photos for your generous gifts in our system, so I am sending inquiries for all three of your boys today. It usually takes about six to eight weeks for us to hear back from the country office, but I will contact you as soon as I receive their replies! Thank you for blessing the families of these boys with such significant gifts :). I cannot wait to see how they were able to use them!

Sarah, Thank you for checking. I have always received thank you's and photos (which is such a delight!), and Camilo and his center are especially great about getting the thank you's out in a timely manner. I am hoping it is just the new system for the reason I have not heard anything from any of the boys. Have a great weekend!

Beth, we just received the response to Camilo's inquiry today! You should see his thank you letter for your gift in your online account :). Also, heads up that  in his letter he sweetly shares how his mother's recent surgery went. The word that was translated as "matrix" was actually wrong. It should be uterus instead :). Happy letter reading!

Thank you, Sarah, and thanks for the translation correction. I kind of wondered if that's what it meant. It is the first I heard of the surgery. I always love the photos that Camilo's center is so kind to send!! I am grateful that they have included Camilo's mother and father in various photos! Now, I'm just wondering who those little boys are in the most recent photos? I will ask Camilo when I write.

I'm so glad they included several family members in the photos too! Maybe those are his siblings, cousins, or friends who just wanted to be in your pictures too :).
