Have any of you ever received a letter from your child letting you know they received your cards, letters, or gifts?

I am feeling a bit disappointed that my child's latest letter still does not mention receiving any of the things we have sent via the mail or the online gifts that Compassion uses to purchase gifts for our child and her family.  Have any of you received letters that do indeed express this?

Yes, I have. In letters my kids have mentioned how much they enjoyed the stickers and pictures I've sent to them, and I've received photos from both Peru and Haiti of things my children purchased with the monetary gifts I've sent them. It can take what seems like a *long* time. I beleive 6 months is a expected time frame for a gift to be acknowledged. If it's been over 6 months sice you've sent something, you can place an inquiry through Compassion who will contact the filed office and make sure everything arrived.

Thanks, Lindsay. I will wait a bit longer then and see. It hasn't been quite six months yet. Hopefully, I will receive acknowledgement this year.  I want to know that she has indeed received and to know how monetary gifts have blessed her and her family.  Thanks so much for your reply. It encouraged me.

Rhonda, I am so sorry for the disappointment at not receiving anything back yet. :( I know that it does seem to take a long time and it looks like you have sent an impressive amount of loving letters and gifts over the last four months! Thank you so so much for blessing your child in such incredibly thoughtful and tangible ways! I want to encourage you that you will receive a response to your gifts and letters. The children are required to send two regular letters each year and up to six reply letters to every letter that you write. Also, you will receive a thank you letter within six months of when the gift was sent. Please keep in mind that it takes two to three months for letters and monetary gifts to be sent so it can take up to six months to receive responses on things. Again, thank you so much for the very real difference that you are making in this child's life!
