My girl from Uganda Birungi Babra (This is how she spells her name) hasn't contacted me in awhile!  Just wondering if she's okay, if she got busy, or anything of that nature.  I send her a lot of letters and feel like I should get more than one every 6 months... or longer.  I'm just frustrated.  So, if you could check on her that would be great!

Angelee, I am so sorry that it has been so long since you have heard from Barbra. :( I can definitely see how that would be frustrating but I can hear that you are trying to be patient and understanding. You are right that you should be hearing from her more often than every six months as a supporter who writes to her as much as you do. I just sent an inquiry to check on her and ask her to write another letter as soon as possible.

Hi Susan, From what I see in this blog, I have to wonder why there are so many children or centers who are not following Compassion's guidelines for writing letters. I find this kind of concerning.

Beth, I am so sorry for the concern and frustration in regards to the letters from the children. As you may be aware, we are in a transition right now upgrading our systems and providing the necessary training to do so. I know that there have been errors and the transition has not gone as perfectly as we would like and I am so sorry for that. While it is not normal to go six months between letters from the children, it does happen from time to time. This may happen because the child is visiting family or maybe they happened to be sick on the scheduled letter writing day at the center. Or maybe there was an error in our system that lets staff and children know that they needed to write a letter and so they didn't write the letter when they were supposed to. In most of the cases that I have seen, it is not that staff are deliberately not following our guidelines and there is more to the story there. However, this is also why we send inquiries to check on the situation and make sure that everything is going as it should be.
