I have sponsored my child since last Aug/Sept. After the initial message from him, I sent a couple of letters including some photos and a message via the compassion app. That was December 2015. I haven't heard or received anything at all except for a recent email asking for me to take a survey about my most recent letter from him, which I haven't received. Can I get this resolved please? I hope I'm not missing out on sweet notes from him or his family due to technology issues or mail issues. I would love to hear from someone about this. I'm afraid he thinks I don't care.

Good morning, Jessica! The Compassion staff is off for the weekend and I'm another sponsor like you, but I want to encourage you that your child is receiving your letters and he knows that you love him so much! I'm sorry that you have been concerned about not hearing from him in a while. It's normal to receive an introduction letter after you start sponsoring within four months. Those are often written before the child has a sponsor and kept in Colorado to send out to sponsors quickly so that you can get to know more about your sponsored child and their family, and it can take a little while at first after that to get into a good rhythm of sending and receiving letters but don't give up because you will and it's worth the wait!

You also may not be aware, but Compassion has been going through some big changes recently with their letter writing system to really speed things up! In the past it was taking 2-3 months for letters to travel both ways, but Compassion rolled out a new system on April 11th which will reduce that timeframe to weeks instead of months. I believe the letter delivery slowed down a bit while the new system was being put into place but please know that Compassion will deliver all of the letters that your kiddo writes to you and it sounds like you have a letter on the way right now! Have you checked in your "My Account" to see if a letter has already been scanned? I hope that you are able to view his letter now and you should be receiving a copy of it in the mail very soon.

Also, I want to encourage you to keep writing because your words of kindness mean so much to your sponsored child and bring hope into his world! It means so much to these kids to know that someone believes in them and is cheering for them and loves them and cares about their future. Thank you for being a blessing to this boy and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Hi Jessica! I'm so sorry you haven't heard from your precious Patrick since his initial letter :(. We did just process a new letter from him at the very end of May. Like Adam mentioned, you should be able to read this letter on your online account by clicking on "Write My Child" on the left side of the page once you log in. From there, click on "My Letters". Under the conversations, you should see his most recent letter highlighted in dark blue with a envelope icon. These letters are clickable, which means you'll be able to read it online! Some sponsors have had issues viewing the letters online, so please let me know if you can't read it and I will email you a copy. You will also receive a copy by mail. We did process a letter from Patrick in October, but it sounds like you didn't receive that one. Is that correct? If you didn't receive it, I can send an inquiry to see if there is a copy of it at our office in Rwanda. Just let me know :).
