Haven't heard from my sponsored child in over 6+ months. Sent a Christmas and Birthday gift. Have no idea if they even received?? Other people from my church are in contact with their sponsored child every few months. Not sure if my sponsorship is even making a difference at this point?

Great question, John - every sponsor/child relationship is different. No two sponsors will have the same experience just because of the amount of variables within each project making the projects and children in those projects unique. We do have some set guidelines, though, and one is that no sponsor should go more than six months without receiving a letter from his child. Since it has been since last October that you received a letter from your sponsored child, I would ask that you please use the 'contact us' tab above to submit a request for Compassion to contact the Bangladesh office and ask them to have your child write her next letter to you. Please do know that your sponsorship is making a difference in her life. For these children, knowing that they have a sponsor and receiving encouraging letters from that sponsor helps them to feel loved and valued, which makes a difference to everyone.
