New development in Japan.

On NHK-WORLD TV today, Sunday 11/19, the program FACE TO FACE, title is UNCOVERING CHILD POVERTY. A lady is making noise for Japanese children living in poverty.
The program airs worldwide in English on NHK-WORLD, and locally in Los Angeles on TV 28-4(KCET) at 05:10am & 11:10am PST, and on the NHK app.
(((Check local listings))))
Its NOT a Christian Ministry, but with someone finally speaking up, maybe Japan will ask CI to help out!

From NHK: "Roughly 1 in 6 children in Japan is living in poverty.  Keiko Yoneyama is the founder of back food bank that solicits donations from businesses and farms and passes them on to families in need. When Japanese people are struggling financially, they are often ashamed to admit it.  Yoneyama works with schools and local governments to bring impoverished children out of the shadows, and has recently begun programs to help their parents find jobs."

The program is now available on the NHK
On Demand page, and on their app. It should be there for a week or two.

Hi firedude! Thanks for the heads up! That is really exciting that there is a new awareness and efforts to combat child poverty in Japan. Our heart is that all children all around the world would be released from extreme poverty. Compassion typically works in nations with a lower GDP and in areas with a large population that lives in abject poverty. As one of the wealthiest nations in the world, it is unlikely that Compassion would work in Japan.
