Hi Kim! This is a great question! Sometimes sponsored children need emergency help — beyond what sponsorship funds can cover. The Partners of Compassion is a global fund that helps to provide critical and emergency needs at any time, for any child. These needs may include:

-Clean water, toilets and hygiene
-Immediate care for orphans
-Disaster relief
-Education and training programs for caregivers
-Emergency medical care
-Nutritional support
-HIV and AIDS response, including education, prevention and treatment
-Immunizations and malaria prevention
-Vocational training and nonformal education

Last August, we sent out a letter asking sponsors who were able to consider giving an extra $7 per month to help cover these critical needs for their child and all children in Compassion's program. You may have signed up at that time or perhaps when you signed up to sponsor your child. ..
