Hi ,a okna Joel, just advice to you,I would wait until the computer system of compassion,or the organization becomes, more transparent,I am in a similar situation to you but we are a church and do want to discuss compassion coming on board with us,I am not sure that now this will be correct,as there are to many issues with lost letters and computers cliches.
I am a missionary and my wife is a pastora to a local chuch in mountain area of Ozamis city,we are amongst many many poor families who could be helped with donations from a christian organization, seems ideal but the unanswered problems I have been reading online makes me want to wait.
Thanks stan CARR,and gods blessing to my writings to you.

Paul, I appreciate you wanting to share your experience, but it sounds like you may be wanting to do something different than Avoka Joel. You seem to be talking about partnering with Compassion and he is talking about donating to Compassion. These are two different things. That said, we are happy to help you as well. Please email socialmedia@compassion.com if you  have any questions about partnership. May God bless you in your ministry.

Hi Avoka Joel,

I am a child sponsor through Compassion, and have been sponsoring now for about 4 1/2 years.  I'd like to try and answer your question now.  Compassion has many links to different ways you can donate if you go to there website, www.compassion.com.  Essentially, you can become a child sponsor, like I am, which is a monthly commitment of 38 US dollars a month.  If that is not something you feel you can do, they also have many funds which you can give a one time gift through, which will be used to support the children and communities they serve in.
If donating through the website is not something you can or want to do, I'm not sure what you will need to do, but there are several ladies who work for Compassion who monitor this forum, and they will be able to help you on Monday.

I want to clarify some of the items Paul mentioned now.  He does not have all his facts straight.
Back in April, Compassion made some changes to how coorespondence between sponsors and their sponsored children was handled.  These changes were supposed to speed up the process, so that instead of letters taking 2 to 3 months to get between the sponsor and the child, they would take only a few weeks.  But there were some problems with the new system that Compassion was not able to anticipate, and so, for now, Compassion has gone back to the old system while they try to correct the new system.
This has created a backlog of letters waiting to be processed, and has meant that many sponsors have seen a slow down in the number of letters they are receiving from their children.  Of course, this has created some confusion and frustration for many sponsors, and many sponsors who have not been following this whole process have been coming on here to ask questions about what is going on, and express their concerns.
There is not a problem with lost letters at this time.  There is a backlog of letters in the system waiting for translation and approval to be sent on.  This issue will be resolved, but it will take a little time.  Also, the computer problems are only related to the new letter writing system, which is why Compassion has gone back to the old writing system.  These problems are not effecting the support we are sending to our children; they are still receiving the money we send, and are still able to participate in the Compassion Programs.  I want to stress this point, the problem Compassion is currently having is with how letters between sponsors and children are being handled right now; this is not effecting their ability to run the programs our money goes to support.

I hope this helps.

Hi Avoka Joel! I appreciate your desire to support our ministry! God bless you for your heart to help release children from poverty in Jesus' name! Please visit our website to select and sponsor a child in need. If you would like to make a one time donation, we have several general funds that you are welcome to choose from as well.
