The only picture of my child is on the package I received when I became her sponsor. Thats been a while. She looks so scared and unhappy . I would like to know I am truly changin her life.

pictures are re-done every 18 - 24 months from the date that is shown on your online account.  Once it is updated on there, you will get new ones in the mail about a month or two after it updates on your account.

Hi Jana. You are making a difference.Just keep writing letters and as you receive the update pictures you'll see a difference in her.I have seen the difference in the update pictures of my sponsor kids.I see it in their letters too.Don't worry,as time goes by you'll see the difference.

One more thing I want to add.One difference you make is you stand in the way of drug cartels who want to recruit these kids.Kids as young as 11-12 years old are approached by them. They play nice with them at first.Helping them by asking them to run errands for them and paying them so they can take the money home to help their own families.

There's a blog about this subject where a pastor in Dominican Republic talks about this. It's people like us who God has called into this ministry and others like it who will make the difference.I've been in the underground drug culture. That's one of the reasons I'm so involved in this ministry.I've been told that even drug cartel members are able to enroll their kids into the program. They don't want their kids in the gangs.I want to post something later about what my sponsor child's pastor told me in El Salvador. There is hope for them.

Thank you. For your reply. I do see the changes in the letters she sends and having a recent picture seems not as important as it did before. You gave me a new insight on what a sponsor is. Aneth is 9 years old. Now and in a few years she will be faced with situations that you speak of. Having her picture is not as important as preparing her by encouraging her and telling her G od loves her. And protects her. Will you let me know when you post? I would love to know what your pastor told you. God is preparing children for a uncertain future thru us and that is awesome and a task not to be taken Lightly.
