I would love to exchange letters with a child, although I cannot financially sponsor a child at this time.

Hi Teresa! Compassion has a program called the correspondent sponsor program where you can write to a child who's sponsor is unable to write their child letters. The only requirement is to write to the child three times per year; there's no financial obligations. One of the staff can put you on the list to be a correspondent if you would like to do that. Do you have a preference about age or gender of the child or where they are from? I think the more specific the request the longer it can take, so if you don't mind being assigned any child that becomes available then it should go quicker. That's really kind of you to do that! Thank you for your heart to bless a child with your letters.

Hi Teresa! We would love for you to correspond with a child living in poverty! Adam gave you a great amount of information already :). If you'd like to get started as a correspondent, would you mind emailing your contact information including theĀ name you wish to appear on the account, address, phone, and email to socialmedia@compassion.com? We'll get an account started for you and put you on the waiting list for a child. Once one becomes available, he or she will be added to your account andĀ  you'll receive a welcome packet with the child's information in the mail.

Stephen, I will place you on the waiting list :)! I think you would be an amazing correspondent, and it would bring so much joy to a child or several children to receive encouragement from you. How many children would you like to be placed on the waiting list for?
