My teen wants to sponsor a child under HER name, is there a way I can accomplish this under my account? I need to be able to use it as tax deduction.

jymarino,

I believe you can have your daughter set up as the correspondent.  That would give her her own account for writing purposes, but the sponsored child would still appear on your account for the financial payments.  Does that sound like what you want to do?  The ladies who watch these forums will be able to help you get that set up, if so.

I did this just today. My 14 y/o daughter has her own account and has been writing to a correspondent child for 2 yrs. The financial sponsor stopped her sponsorship a couple of days ago and she was removed from my daughter's account. My daughter was so sad to lose her little one (2 tearful days). We prayed about it and came up with a way to swing adding a third sponsored child.
I was able to call today and sign up to sponsor the little girl, and had my daughter assigned her correspondent (again). So I am the financial sponsor and my daughter is the correspondent sponsor. My daughter saves up her money throughout the year to send her child financial gifts, but I pay the monthly fee.

Hi Jymarino! Setting this up is no problem! Will you being paying for her sponsorship, or will your daughter be the one paying for the monthly fees? This will determine how to set this up. Chat soon! :)
