I received a small raise and want to share with my child. How do I go about doing that? I only $38.00 monthly I think I read it can about $41.00 a month.

If you raise you amount to $41, anything above $38 will go to a special fund.  If you want the extra to go to your child, then you should save it, and do a child gift, or add it to a birthday gift when the time comes.

Congratulations on your raise, Janet! Thank you for your desire to bless Eklesia, as well. The basic sponsorship rate is $38 per month. You do have the option to increase this amount, but this will not go directly to Eklesia, if will go to her church project to benefit the needs of all the children in that project. It sounds like you are interested in blessing her directly with the extra donation. You can donate a monetary gift for Eklesia or her family. Gifts are such a blessing to the children and their families, and the project staff will help them to decide how they can best use the money. However, these gifts cannot be given on a monthly basis. A gift for Eklesia can be given 2 times per year and the amount per gift can be $10-$100. Family gifts can be $25-$1000 and should not exceed a total of $1000 per calendar year. We suggest that family gifts be given as a one-time gift or given a few times throughout the year. This will allow the gifts to be a blessing to the family when it's received. We caution against sending monthly gifts that the family could become dependent on. Please let us know if you have any additional questions and thank you for supporting Eklesia!
