We would be delighted to have you write to a child! To start the process, please post here, emailciinfo@us.ci.org, or call us at (800) 336-7676. We assign correspondents for sponsors who do not have the time or desire to write, and as soon as an opening becomes available, we can assign a child to you. At that time, we will send you an information packet for the child, as well as writing instructions.

The requirement to be a correspondent is a commitment to write at least three times a year. In turn, you will receive three letters a year from the child. Our experience has shown that children who receive consistent encouragement tend to set higher goals for themselves. Your role is a very important aspect of our ministry.

I just read that Canada needs more correspondents. Is this true and if it is can you help me get in touch with them? Thank you!

Hi Cheyenne! We have been asking people to go through their own country for correspondent relationships. It looks like you are through the US. Canada is trying to grow their correspondent program and we want to allow them to do this through their own constituency.

Hello, Hope everyone is looking forward to Memorial Day weekend. I was checking my account and saw I have a letter on the way from Jany (MY FIRST ONE!) and a photo update of Dylan! its a good week! But I also noticed a message asking for older children to be sponsored. I can not afford to sponsor another child but if possible could you add me to the list for 2 child 10-13 boy and girl from Colombia? and also let me know my place on my other request? Thank you!

Hi Cheyenne! I'm so glad you're getting your first letter from Jany and a new picture of Dylan! Wahoo! We certainly understand if you can't sponsor another child right now (but I'm so encouraged by your sweet heart!) and I'm happy to add you to the correspondent waiting list for two kiddos that are a bit older :). Your request right now for a child from CO617 is number 170.

Hello,
I believe I am still on the waiting list for correspondence children?  If so, can I please be taken off?  I want to focus on the children I currently have and be a better letter writer (and prayer warrior!) for them :)
Thanks!

Noelle, I admire you so much for this! Thank you for your hearts desire to pour into prayer time for the current children you already have and wanting to build on your relationships with them. Thank you for prayerfully considering this and listening to God's leading :). I have removed you from the waiting list and pray God blesses your relationships and that Holy Spirit fills your mind and your 'pen' with affirming words to your children, reminding them of their worth in Christ!

Hi April! I am adding your requests to the waiting list now. Do you have a preference for the age of the second boy and girl? Or would you like all four to be under 16 years old? Thank you for being a blessing to children with your letters! God bless you!

Thank you so much Katherine!  As to your question I don't have a preference for the ages of my request for a second boy and girl, just so that I get to write my correspondence children when I receive them-I just see this as such an amazing opportunity- quite exciting actually as I just learned of this program and I already love writing my sponsor child Dorca!

Thanks again

Ladies, I have been so excited checking my account each morning and then having the pleasure of finding out that we have been assigned one of our requests for correspondents...we now have two, sweet Ingrid and little Noel, we already love them to pieces, thank you so much for all you do everyday for these children and for us!  Could I add a few more requests onto the wait list?- for a girl in Bolivia, either a boy or girl in South or Central America, Ethiopia and in Uganda?  Any age up to 17 is fine with us- even though I haven't yet received a letter, I look forward to possibly seeing one in my account each day, being able to communicate with these little dears is so special!
I'd appreciate it very much! Thank you
April

Hi Eleanor! We have not placed you on our correspondent waiting list just yet because we are still waiting to see if the financial sponsors of your former India correspondents will accept a new child in their places. If the financial sponsors do accept a new child, then you will automatically become those children's correspondent. However, if the financial sponsors do not continue their sponsorships, we will be happy to place you on the waiting list :). Will you please allow another couple of weeks before we do this? Thank you for your patience!

Kelli, you wouldn't be able to locate him on the website because his sponsorship is on hold right now. Regrettably, because his financial sponsors cancelled in December, he is currently at an event that runs through June 14. However, I have him reserved for Sarah so if he is not sponsored at this event, we will assign him to her.

Susan, is there anyway we can sponsor him? I had been told that if a sponsor drops a child, the correspondent is given a chance first. This is so disappointing! If we had known this sooner, we would have sponsored him right away. June 14th is a long ways away. I'm sure he'll be sponsored by then. Is there anything you can do? Sarah is so disappointed. She really cared about him.

Kelli, I am deeply sorry for the way this situation was handled :(. Regrettably, Yordin's financial sponsor canceled in the midst of our significant system transition at the end of December and early January. It is our normal process to contact the correspondent to offer the sponsorship of the child, but, sadly, this situation had fallen through the cracks. We cannot express how sorry we are for not contacting Sarah as soon as this happened :(. Unfortunately, I am not able to place Yordin on Sarah's account until this event is over and he becomes available again on June 14th. As weird as this sounds, I am hoping along with you that Yordin does not get sponsored at this event so that your sweet daughter can sponsor him. However, even if Yordin is sponsored, at least we can rest in the knowledge that he will receive all the love and care that he needs. Please rest assured that we have placed a reservation on Yordin, so if he is not sponsored, he will be automatically placed on Sarah's account. We sincerely apologize for our mistake, and we cannot thank you enough for your grace and understanding.

Christina, is there anyone at Compassion that I can call and speak to about this? Surely you must have some idea where this event is? There must be someone in charge of the event that you can speak to. We have been sponsors for a long time and this situation has been very disappointing. My daughter has developed a friendship with Yordin. Seems like there is more that can be done.

Kelli, again I sincerely apologize for the incredible delay in notifying you about Yordin. We take full responsibility for this error and I sincerely wish there was something we could do right at this moment to correct this error of ours. Regrettably, as Christina mentioned, it is simply not possible to pull a packet from an event like this and anyone you could speak to here at Compassion would tell you the same thing. Let me explain a little further. While it is against our procedures, I have previously removed children from the website in special situations like this. I may even have been able to make your request work if the packets had not been sent yet. Regrettably, in this situation, Yordin's packet was sent among 1,200 other packets to a mega church for Compassion Sunday. The packets were sent at the end of February. The people running this Compassion Sunday event, as you can imagine, are volunteers and not Compassion employees. I am very sorry but I do not feel that it is right to ask volunteers to take a significant amount of time looking through 1,200 packets to find one child. Again, I am so sorry but this is simply not possible. The good news is that Yordin has not been sponsored yet and over half of the hold time for this event has passed. I trust that if it is meant to be, Yordin will still be available and I will be able to add him to your account in June.

Thank you, Susan. I did not realize there were that many packets involved at the events and I wouldn't want to impose on them. I have one more question. I recently sponsored Vivian from Ghana. Can you tell me if she has had previous sponsors and if anyone has been writing to her? Thanks!

Hey Kelli! I was working to get Yordin moved over to your account, but I ran into some errors while I did that. I'm working with our tech team to fix this for you, but Yordin will show up as a financial commitment on your account and on Sarah's account as a correspondent child when we get this fixed. I'm so sorry that it's not working the way it should! I did see the donation come through that you sent a few weeks ago. That was applied to his support.

Hi Debra I placed you on the waiting list today for three children. Thank you so much for the heart you have to encourage then through your letters! Yes, you will receive photos of the children in addition to all of their letters :). It can take up to a month to receive your first correspondent child, but with you not having any preferences for your requests it will probably not take too long.

I am so happy to hear that you have already begun to write your sweet new child! We do have a wait list for our correspondents who would like to write to additional children. At this time, it seems to take a couple months to get a new child for those on the list depending on how specific their requests are. Would you like me to add you to the list for an additional child? If so, please let us know if you have any request on age, gender or country! :)

Hi Ashley! I am so glad that you are excited to write to Madeline! She has had just one sponsor the whole time she has been in the program. She's also had a previous correspondent. Good morning Ashley,

Madeline began with Compassion on December 1st 2009. I am so sorry if we gave you incorrect information before. She did have one previous sponsor and then this current one, so maybe that is where the confusion happened.

I have also added your two new requests to the wait list as you have asked. :)

Good morning, Ashley. :) When a child has a financial sponsor and a different person as that child's correspondent, the financial sponsor should not be writing letters. Would you please provide for me Rio's child ID number, so we can do some research and make sure that the financial sponsor is not writing?

Thank you for getting back to us on this! I couldn't see that either of these children's financial supporters wrote to them even within the past two years, so it's interesting that it's showing on your online account... I have a few suggestions for you!
1) Log out and log back in to your account
2) Make sure that the version of the app that you have is the most up-to-date version
If neither of those work, then would you please give us the date that's listed on the letter that you see, as well as any other details about the letter (who it's from, etc.) that would help us locate it? Thanks!

Hi Ashley,

I see that Brandom actually goes by Brandon. :) He began with Compassion in April 2010. Since then he has had just one sponsor and one previous correspondent. He has received 5 letters over the years, but never a gift. He has his last update in July 2018, so you can expect a new photo and updated information in about July 2020.

Hi Raechel! You currently have three requests for girls under 12 years old from Honduras. I am happy to add three new requests or change the ones you have. Just let me know what you would like to do at this point. :)

That's a long time to wait for a letter! I'm glad you let us know! It does look like there was a letter that was sent out to you at the end of September. Did you receive this letter?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Can we write letters without the financial commitment?.

I experienced the Compassion exhibit yesterday in Atlanta. Wow! I would like to correspond to a child, but my family may not be able to maintain a $38/month commitment. I understand the importance of consistently encouraging a child. Can I write to children who do not have a sponsor until the time they get one? I saw some children waiting over a year! I think an older child would understand an appreciate the relationship. Thanks for all you do.

Hi Treva! Garry gave you some awesome information and I hope it helped you! Thank you so very much for being interested in writing to a child! You're right, letters make a huge impact on a child's self worth and knowing who they are in Christ, and give them hope! Older children are in such a critical stage in their lives and encouragement as they finish up our program is such a blessing to these children and helps motivate them to work hard and continue pursuing their dreams! We would love to have you write to a child that doesn't get letters! I merged your inquiry into this conversation so that you could read the requirements to be a correspondent that Susan posted at the top of this forum :).

If you're still interested in writing a child, we can get an account created for you and put you on the waiting list to receive a child at the next available opportunity. Please email us or call our office to get started! You can also email us directly at socialmedia@compassion.com

E. Smart, Your first request you mentioned is at about number 72. The second request you mentioned is at about number 26 on the list. Because your requests are so specific, it is likely that they will take a while. Please know that we haven't forgotten you! However, we don't have too many children that come available for those countries and often they don't fit within your age range.

Hi Mstamb! We certainly do have you on the list for three more girls in that specific age group. We actually had your request listed as one combined request instead of three separate ones, which can cause us to mistakenly only add one child to your account instead of three. I corrected the problem for you :). Your requests are now numbers 566, 667 and 668. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Does this mean that there will need to be 668 sponsored kids who's sponsors decline writing before I get assigned one child? Wow, it seems that might take a while. I keep thinking about how disheartened those kids are who have been waiting more than a year for a sponsor. I wish I could send them words of encouragement.

Hi Treva! I appreciate your heart for those kids who have been waiting a long time for a sponsor. We are looking into some options of being able to send unsponsored children encouragement right now as well. Stay tuned on that! While we go in order of date requested, we also give priority to supporters who do not currently have any correspondent children and those who have given us general requests (no preferences). Also, these assignments are dependent on which children happen to become available for this program. We often have to skip over several people on the list because their request was so specific and their preferences do not match the child who is currently available. All to say that the fact that we have 668 requests on the waiting list right now does not mean that we have to go through all 668 requests or that 668 correspondent children have to become available before your correspondent request is fulfilled. It could be much quicker than you think! :)

I have a question. Do you have a Spanish version of the site or communicate in Spanish, or maybe have a location in Colombia? My formerly sponsored girl from Children International tells me she wants to help kids the way I have. Now, she would be less fortunate (since she needed sponsorship), but she is 19, and I could tell her about your correspondence sponsorship program if it would be possible at all for her to participate (she could write to a sponsored child in your program). She is religious, so I'm sure if she could help your organization for free, she may be interested. She only speaks Spanish, however.

Hi E. Smart! Yes, we have a few options to consider. She may be interested in volunteering at a Compassion center in her area. This would probably be the best way for her to help. Please email me at socialmedia@compassion.com with the area she lives in if you would like more information on how she can do this. We have a few materials in Spanish right now but not very many. If she were to be a part of the correspondent program, she would need to go through the US program which would be in English. However, if she can navigate our English website, and especially if she sponsored a child who speaks Spanish, she could probably do it.

Would still like 2 more girls. I'm trying to expand my request. I'd like any age 5-14, and now it is fine if both girls are from Africa, but these are all the countries I'd be interested in corresponding with: Uganda, Kenya, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru. Hope this helps me get a couple more sooner. :)

E. Smart, your two requests are currently at numbers 46 and 47 out of 459 requests on the waiting list right now. As we have mentioned previously, your requests are very specific and we are really dependent on which children happen to become available when we get to your name on the list. This makes it tough to predict when you will receive another correspondent child. However, one of the factors is that we do not assign more than one child to a sponsor in a seven-day period in order to give the most number of correspondent sponsors a fair chance at being blessed with a child. This means that because you just got a child last Friday, you can expect to not get another correspondent child until tomorrow.

I had written more in my message than that! I was asking since I wanted to order all my Easter cards at the same time if possible. No worries! I totally understand. Hi E. Smart! I hope you are having a wonderful morning! I am so impressed you are already ahead of the game on ordering your Easter cards. My mind hadn't even thought that far into the year yet :). We still have you on the list for a 5-14 year old girl from Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, or El Salvador and a 7-14 year old girl from Uganda or Kenya. I put you on the list for girls from the Philippines, Uganda, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Because I am only able to add up to five requests per sponsor per day, I can't put you on the list for girls from Ecuador, Peru, or Indonesia until next week. You can certainly request them on Tuesday though :). Our office will be closed for the holiday on Monday. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Please understand: I'd like to write to a girl of each country I've listed now or in the past, but I already have one from Kenya and one from Bolivia. 5-14 is a good age range for any of the countries! I don't need to have more than one child from any of the countries I've requested! :) I should keep pretty busy if you end up fulfilling the request of 1 child from each country I'd like to write to! :) If I can do more than that, I would let you know after that. Thank you!!

E. Smart, I just went through all of your requests again to consolidate and make sure you receive one child from Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, El Salvador, Uganda, Philippines, Ecuador, and Indonesia. Some of your requests were duplicated and some had multiple countries listed so I just made one request for each country that you are wanting. Also, I pushed up the request for the Philippines since it sounds like that one is a priority for you. :)

Oh, you have Thailand, right? :) I have close Thai friends, so I could write to a girl there, too, but I don't want to inconvenience with too many requests! Also, I forget, how often do the children write to me? How often for a photo and family/school update? Just curious. :) Got some stuff together today for my two correspondent girls I already have! :)

E.Smart, that's great! Where is Thailand are your friends? That would be a neat way to relate to a child! I have added you to the waiting list for a Thai girl as well. You can expect to receive at least two letters per year from your children. That's all they are required to write in case their sponsors don't write often, we don't want them to have to write more frequently to someone who doesn't respond often. Now, if you decide to write say, every other month, you can expect to receive up to six letters per year :). Also, we currently give child updates and update photos every 18-24 months (two years) but we're working to make communication more frequent and more efficient in the near future with updates to our systems.

I had three young adults graduate from the Compassion program last year. I would like to request three replacement correspondents.
I would like to request one from El Salvador, one from Indonesia and one from Kenya.
I am happy to write to older teens/young adults. I am happy to write to boys or girls.
Thank you!

Hi Carol! I am adding these requests to our waiting list today. Because your requests are more specific and our list is currently still a little long, it is hard for me to estimate how long it will be until we are able to fulfill these requests. As soon as we are able to find children that fit the characteristics you mentioned, we will add them to your account. You have been doing an incredible job as a correspondent to each of your current children. Thank you so, so much for bringing light and hope into their lives :)!

I haven't got my welcome packet for Susy (and of course not yet Nicole)... would Susy's still be in the mail? One other thing... I sent paper dolls for Alejandra last time. I thought it was probably ok for Bolivia, but one time I did something similar with an organization to Senegal, and they said it was not appropriate (and sent it back). Would I be informed if something was not forwarded to a child I'm corresponding with? I would like to know so that I can provide something else if that happens.

Hi E.Smart!

I'm sorry that you haven't received your welcome packet for Susy yet. It normally takes around 15 days for you to receive this after you get a child. If you don't receive her packet by the beginning of next week, please let us know and we'll re-send it to your home :). You can expect Nicole's welcome packet sometime in the first week of February.

Rest assured that we'll send you a notification either by email, mail, or phone call, if there is ever a reason we cannot send anything to your child. There are some items that are culturally inappropriate in the countries we work in that would seem perfectly innocent here (Pokemon cards for example), but paper dolls going to your kiddo in Bolivia should be just fine :).

Since I recently lost a correspondent, I would like to add another request to the list.

Here is a list of all my current correspondent requests plus the new one:
A girl 8 or older from Thailand
A girl 8 or older from Rwanda or Uganda
A girl 8 or older from Togo or Ghana

Including my new one, I would be on the list for 3 new correspondents. Did I remember that right?

Hello! I just very recently started sponsoring 3 children in Africa (sponsor #4043683) and I was not aware until visiting this site that I can actually correspond with more children without actually being their sponsor and donating the money each month. Just to clarify, is this for kids who havent gotten sponsors yet or who have sponsors that dont have the time to write them? Can we make the request to be given children to correspond with that dont have sponsors yet at all? I honestly wish I could sponsor 50 children, if only I could afford it

Hi Trina! Thank you for your interest in writing to kiddos! We assign correspondents to children whose sponsors have requested to have someone else to write to their children. So there is a financial sponsor and then the correspondent who does all the writing. This does mean, however, that if the financial sponsor cancels their sponsorship, the correspondent must either become the financial sponsor to continue writing or no longer write to the child. Would you still like to be added to the correspondent wait list for a child?

Yes please! Thank you, Katherine, for getting back to me so quickly. How long does it usually take on the wait list until you receive some kids? And what happens with the kids that have no sponsor at all? Does anyone write to them? I feel so bad for them. Like I said, I wish I could sponsor them all!!!!

Hi Trina! I am adding you to the waiting list this morning. It can take up to a month to receive your first correspondent child, but we do give preference to sponsors who do not have any correspondent children. You may see a child in a few days, or it could be several weeks. As soon as we have a child for you, we will send you a welcome packet, much like the ones you received for Grace, Charity, and Obse. You'll then be able to write letters to your new child :)! Thank you so much for your willingness to bless another child in need. Sadly, the children who do not yet have sponsors do not receive letters. Would you continue to pray over those precious children who have yet to receive a sponsor?

Thank you so much, Sarah!  It makes me sad that the children who don't have sponsors get no letters.  I wish there was some correspondence program for those unfortunate kids who haven't been sponsored yet, just so they can at least receive letters.  Do these children know that someone else besides the "correspondent" person is the sponsor who is actually providing money for them?  I'm just curious how these children understand this as I would think it would be a little confusing for them.  Another question:  I just added another child to sponsor (Mawunyo from Ghana) on Friday but she is not showing up in my account.  Does this just take several days?  I figured maybe because it's been the weekend, that she might not be added until today... but I'm still not seeing her.  Just making sure that my sponsorship officially went through.  Thanks Sarah.

Hi Trina! You're right, having a correspondent and financial sponsor can get confusing for the kiddos. For the most part, the children usually just think that their correspondent sponsor is also their financial sponsor. Hmmm.... I'm not seeing Mawunyo on your account yet either. Could you send me her child ID number? It can take a few days for a new child to appear on your account but I'd still like to see what I can find for you :).

Hi Katherine!  Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.  You guys are the best!  So I stupidly cannot find where I wrote down my new child's ID number.  I only have her name (Mawunyo Ayi Nyadzi).  She's an 8 year old girl from Ghana.  I was sent an email from Compassion on the 21st thanking me for sponsoring her.  I just hadn't seen anything about her show up in my account yet, so that's why I was wondering.  Anything you could find out about her, I would appreciate it.  Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, Sarah.  I really appreciate it!  I have another quick question.  So I read that if we send money to our children for Christmas, that it is all pooled together with the other donations so that all children at the center can get a gift.  I actually love this, but I was wondering if our children are told that they were given a gift by their sponsor, or do they just think it was provided by the center, just like everyone else's gift?  And I read that if we send over $60 for any gift throughout the year, that their picture will be taken of them holding the gift and sent to us so that we can see what they received with our money.  Is this the case for Christmas as well?  I was just curious.  Thank you for all of your help and I am always amazed by your quick responses!  I so appreciate it!

Hi Trina! Great questions! If the children are sponsored, they are told that the Christmas gift is from their sponsor. This is true even if the sponsor does not contribute to the Christmas fund. You will only receive that extra photo of your kiddo if you send $60 or more for a child gift, family gift, or birthday gift. A photo is not provided if you send $60 or more to the Christmas fund. :)

Thank you, Katherine, for answering my questions.  I really appreciate it.  So I had written a few days ago that I was not seeing my newly sponsored child in my account yet (Mawunyo  GH-627-0063) and someone was looking into it for me.  Tonight I checked and a child has been added to my account but it's not her.  It is a 20 year old boy named Fritzner (HA-719-0046) who is not the child that I chose.  Could you get this fixed for me?  Thank you so very much!

Oh I see!  I didn't know if the correspondent children would be added on our account just like our regular sponsored children, or if they would just be sent to us in the mail for snail mail.  I'm all new to this so don't quite know how it all works :).  Now I'll know if some unknown child appears in my account, that it is a newly added correspondent child.  Got it!  :)  For correspondent children, I had actually asked for girls between the ages of 4-16 (as my 3 daughters around those ages were wanting to help me write to girls around their ages).  Are there any children needing correspondents that fit that description, by chance?  I don't want to be an inconvenience.  Thanks so much Sarah!!

Trina, your correspondent kids will be placed on your account the same way sponsored kids are. You'll also receive a welcome packet for them, but the cover letter will read a little differently :). I'm sorry that we placed you on the waiting list for any child instead of a girl between four and sixteen. I will update your requests on the waiting list. Do you want me to give Fritzner to another sponsor instead? I don't have any girls in that age range yet, but we get new children on the list at least several times per week usually.

Sarah,
As always, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I guess you could give Fritzner to another sponsor if that is not too much trouble, as my daughters are really looking forward to helping me correspond with them...so we were hoping for girls around each of their ages. I feel bad about giving him up. Is there someone else on the list who is wanting a boy his age that would gladly take him? I hope so!!!! Thanks Sarah!

Hi Trina! I did place him on the waiting list again today after taking him off of your account. You will probably still receive his welcome packet, but just know that I have already taken care of it :). Yes, someone else will probably be assigned as his correspondent today actually! We have some faithful correspondents who do look for older children to bless with letters, and some who have no preference at all. He is going to go to another wonderful sponsor! Also, I noticed that Mawunyo is now officially on your account! YAY!

Thank you so much, Sarah!!! That makes me feel so much better that someone else will be getting Fritzner soon, and maybe even today! I just didnt want him sitting on the waitlist waiting for someone. Yes, I also see that Mawunyo is finally on my account!!!! Last night I saw that I had an email telling me she was attached back to my account pending confirmation of a donation. I was confused since I already paid the $38 last Friday, and received the email thanking me for sponsoring her. So I paid the $38 again last night (assuming for some reason last Fri the payment didnt go through or something), and now she is officially added with all my sponsored kids. However, now Im a little worried that I was charged the $38 twice for her. Is there any way that you could check that for me to see? I would really appreciate it!!! Thanks Sarah! I look forward to starting to correspond with my little Mawunyo, and I also look forward to getting any other new correspondent children! Thanks again.

Trina, I only see the one $38 donation from when you started the sponsorship. I sincerely apologize for the delay in processing this new sponsorship and donation. This is the busiest time of year for us due to Christmas donations so we are running a bit slower than usual in processing. I will be checking back just to make sure that you don't get double charged.

One more question. How do I add my newly sponsored child to my Compassion International app that I have on my phone? When I go to compassion.com and get into my account, she shows up there. But when I get into my app on my phone, it still lists only my previous three children. Is this an easy fix?

Now she shows up on the page where you can wite to your children, but she doesnt show up on the other pages.....the home page that first comes up when you log in and the other page where you can see the time where they are and the weather/temperature. Do you know how I can add her to these other pages?

On the iPhone app it only shows three kids at first on the home screen but then you can swipe from left to right to see the other kids, and on the tab that shows all the kids info that page scrolls as well. It might be different on the Android app; I've never tried that one. Will it let you scroll on those tabs, Trina?

Ok, I have one more idea, Trina. I would try to delete the app and then clear the cache by going into Settings > Safari and click "Clear History and Website Data." Then, redownload the app and log back in and hopefully all of your kids will load with a fresh reinstall. I'm hoping that works for you, Trina! We'll get it figured out! :)

Hello.  I have tried to delete the app and clear the cache several times, and every time I redownload the app, it still is only listing the first 3 children that I started sponsoring.  This is not THAT big of a deal but it would just be really nice to have the others on there as well.  Any other ideas to try?

I also have another question.  For my correspondent children, do their financial sponsors send them anything extra for their birthdays?  I was just curious as one of mine has a birthday coming up in mid-December and I was just wondering if she would receive anything special from her actual sponsor?

One more thing:  After you submit a letter online, there is probably no way to retrieve that back, is there?  I stupidly wrote one letter to my 15-year old and then just copied it for two other of my sponsor children, changed their names at the top, and sent.  Afterwards, however, I realized that I had actually put something in there about her being a teenager and that at her next bday, she would be 16!  Now it says that in my letters for my 11 year old and my 8 year old and I feel really bad that they will read that and it will appear that I don't even know their ages.  This will teach me a lesson to definitely carefully proofread through my letters before sending, especially after I have copied it from a letter written to another child.  Still mad at myself for doing that!  Is this something that there is no way to fix now?  Probably.... I just wanted to double  check.  Thanks!

I would like to know the same.  I lost a correspondent child awhile back, so was told I would be on the list to get a new one.  After quite awhile, I did receive a packet in the mail for a new little boy, Hanzel Munoz NI024800366 (although my request was for a girl, but I couldn't pass up that little cutie in the picture).  However, a day or two later, I received a phone call telling me that the financial sponsors decided to correspond with him after all, so that I would now NOT be corresponding with him.  A few days after that, I received a letter from him (I was surprised that happened so quickly, so he must've known about me long before I knew about him).  This is my other question.  Although I am no longer his correspondent sponsor, can I still send him a letter in response to his letter that he sent me?  And I'm not sure how to explain to him that someone else is going to be writing to him now....

But since I'm not getting him, will I be getting a replacement correspondent kid instead (after waiting so long to get him)??  I did have on my list for a girl anywhere from the age of 6-16, preferably a little older so they can write themselves and preferably from somewhere in Africa, but we are fine taking someone else if that comes up first.  If you could check this out for me, to make sure I will be receiving another correspondent child soon, I would really appreciate it.  My sponsor number is:  07300510.  Thank you so much!

Rachel, we still have one request on the list for you.

Trina, we have two still on there for you as well. One is for the girl between 6-16 years old; the other is a general request. I am so sorry for the confusing experience with Hanzel as well. Regrettably, you are not able to send a reply letter back to him now. Someone at his project will have explained the situation to him so that he won't be confused.

Ok, thank you Sarah! So since it took so long for me to work my way up the correspondent list, am I able to be towards the top of the list to get a replacement (since I had only just been given Hanzel and he was taken away within a few days) or do I have to start back over at base zero and wait months to climb back up all over again? I'm hoping I can receive another one soon! I LOVE to write to these kiddos! It lights up my life :).
