How do i cancel my sponsorship?

I need to cancel my sponsorship with Compassion, is there a process i can follow for this?

Ivan, I am so sorry that you are faced with such a difficult decision, but I can certainly assist you with whatever you need to do on your account today. Please let us know if you have any feedback for us as an organization or if there was any way that we could have better served you. Because we value you and all that you have done in the life of this child, we would like to offer to cover three months' support and then to lower your support amount to $19 for five months. Please let me know if this would help. If not, let me know, and I will make your child available for another sponsor.

Belinda and Helen, I am emailing you both with more information on canceling today. I am so sorry you are having to make this decision!

Craig, I am so sorry that your child has moved away from the program so suddenly :(. This just happened to me with the child I have sponsored for about just as long and it is always difficult to say goodbye in such a manner. I do see that we had given you another child to sponsor at the beginning of August, but I will go ahead and cancel that sponsorship for you today. Regrettably, I don't have any information on Nanyombi's new situation. Her family may have moved for better housing or job opportunities, or to live closer to family. I do know that she hopes to continue her schooling and earn a university degree. Please do keep her in your prayers!

Hello. Is there a way for me to get the offer above so that I don't have to cancel but can afford it for the next few months. I love my little girl and I don't want to give her up if there was a way I could make it work

I regret to inform compassion that I need to cancel my sponsorship. Money is just really tight right now and so I need to cancel until further notice. I am so sorry!! I have throughly enjoyed talking to my sweet Stella, and this has been a really hard decision. Thank you for any help!

Joleen, I'm so sorry to hear that you need to cancel your sponsorship. I see that we have already cancelled your sponsorship of Stefany as of earlier this morning, and you should have received an email confirming this. You will also receive a confirmation in the mail within two weeks. I am so sorry you are thinking of canceling your sponsorship of Stella! Please know that we truly value our supporters and we would be blessed to able to help you keep your relationship with your sweet kiddo. If your request is due to a short term financial situation, Compassion would be happy to cover three months of sponsorship for you to allow you a small break from the financial commitment. This means we would completely cover the months of September through November and in addition, we will also cover the one month you had missed prior. In addition, we would be happy to place you on a reduced rate of sponsorship for the following three months. This means that for the months of December through February your donation would be reduced to $19 per month. However, if you still feel it is best to cancel your sponsorship, please let us know and we will be happy to fulfill your wish to cancel.

Hello Compassion!

I'm needing to know the steps to either reduce our monthly compassion support or cancel our account. Due to paying off debt, my spouse and I had been on a lower payment recently. It looks like it just switched back to the full amount, and this no longer fits within our budget. Please let me know our options. Thank you!

Leatha, we don't have the ability to keep your rate at the reduced amount of $38 total for both children. If $38 would work for you, you would be welcome to continue sponsoring one of your children and give the other one up to another sponsor. I know how difficult that decision has to be for you, but it would still allow you to be a sponsor of a child! Let me know if that's something you would be interested in after all or if you would rather put both children back up for sponsorship. I'm so sorry that we can't make it work at the $38 rate for both kids!

Thank you so much, Sarah. That makes perfect sense. Yes, let's choose to sponsor one and allow the other to be up for sponsorship for another family. I am unsure which child we should pick to maintain the sponsorship for. Abraham has been with us for almost a decade, and I think might be almost at the age where he may not qualify for sponsorship? I'm not sure how that works. Yeves is a newer and younger child, so I am happy with you choosing either one. We love both and I wish we could keep covering both. I'm sorry. Please choose the one you feel would likely become sponsored more quickly to open for someone else. Thank you for your help!

Leatha, I'm so glad that will work for you, though, of course, I am sad that you will have to give up one of your kiddos. With Abraham being 21 (as of today!!), we most likely won't be able to find a sponsor for him if we remove him from your account. It's also very important to these young adults to have a sponsor encourage them during their last few years in the program since they are preparing to enter the adult world. It's much easier to find a sponsor for a younger child like Yves. I'll go ahead and place him back up for sponsorship. We should be able to find him a sponsor quickly. Abraham has only about a year left in the program, which sounds like that may be helpful since you are trying to pay off debts. It may take a few days for us to process the removal of Yves sponsorship from your account as we are currently having issues with data entry in our system. As soon as we are able to do the data entry, I will get Yves placed up for sponsorship for you. Thank you so much for working with us to find the best option for you! I know it isn't easy to give up a child, but I am so glad we are able to continue the partnership with you :).

Leatha in your situation, I'd keep Abraham. Older children find it much harder to find a new sponsor.  When he graduates you can reevaluate to determine if you want to sponsor again or if it is not a good time.

I would like to cancel my sponsorship. I had hand picked Thyron and he was removed from the program and replaced with Anshelo. Sadly, I have not connected with Anshelo. I am upset that a child was selected for me by Compassion. I will sponsor a child but it will be my choice.

Kristen, I am so sorry that Compassion choosing a child for you after Thyron left the program has caused you to be upset! Please know that we truly value both your partnership and your feedback. I have removed Anshelo from your account today. At the time Thyron left Compassion's program, we sent you a letter explaining that we had a child on reserve for your consideration. The letter explained that you were under no obligation to sponsor this new child but that we would need to hear from you if you decided not to continue sponsorship. Please understand that it is our heart to get children sponsored, but we in no way want to offend anyone in doing so. In fact, we adopted the above procedure at the request of many of our sponsors. I completely understand your desire to choose your own children to sponsor as I have the same preference for my own sponsorships. I've also updated your account so that we will not add children to your account after a child leaves, should you choose to sponsor another child.
