I wasn't sent the child I originally
Chose in the mail and have lost trust in the company and would like to cancel the donations

Joey, I'm so saddened that this situation has given you a bad taste of our ministry as our intention is not at all to deceive you or try and bait you into sponsoring a child you had not selected. It looks like we had contacted you back in April regarding this situation but did not have the chance to explain the situation fully as your phone was dying.

To clarify what happened; the child that you had requested to sponsor had unfortunately already been sponsored by someone else previously. Due to a technical error, our system did not recognize this before making him available for sponsorship at the Crossroads event you attended. We try our best to avoid these errors as we don't want you to feel misled as you select a child to build a relationship with.In your case, since your requested child was no longer available for sponsorship, we assigned a child to you that had similarities to the child you had originally chosen, such as being a young boy from Nicaragua and as close in age as possible.

We are grateful for your heart for children but certainly respect your decision if you no longer wish to sponsor a child. As requested, I have stopped your automatic donations today and I have made Benjamin available for another sponsor. Again, I understand your frustration and the hesitation that it caused and I'm so very sorry for the lack of communication you may have felt and that this happened to you.

i need to cancel my sponsorship too, before it was fine but now it seems that this company all it wants its the money, i cant truths you with my bank account , you guys take first $29.00 and a couple days later you take other $38.00 and it only say 38 on 2015 taxis???

Hi Braylin! Respectfully, I completely disagree. Compassion is one of the most trustworthy organizations that I've ever seen. To clarify, Compassion is not a public company seeking to make a profit off of you and me; they're a nonprofit ministry and they distribute almost all of the money they receive to directly help children living in poverty around the world. I'm sorry that you believe your bank account was charged twice, but please know that Compassion does not charge your bank account at random without your consent. Are you absolutely sure that the $29.00 was withdrawn by Compassion? This sounds like it might actually be a bank error as you also say that $38 is all that's showing up in your giving history.

I can keep sending and sending more pictures and I'm not sending all the picture for protection but yes it's from compassion

Briseida, I'm so very sorry that you've found yourself questioning Compassion's intentions as I want to assure you that we value you as a sponsor and do not want to take advantage of your generous giving but believe in the life changing impact you're making in your child's life. As you give from the goodness of your heart, our intention is not to deceive you in anyway but to honor you and steward your donations well.

I'm stopping your automatic withdrawal effective today. Before completely cancelling your account, we want to rectify this situation for you and if necessary, refund any donations that were withdrawn without your permission or processed in error. Regrettably, our records do not show any donations made on your account for a total of $29 and all other donations I see on your account were made only with your permission to ensure your support was up to date. I'm looking into thhis situation and I appreciate these screen shots as they are helping me to research this further and see what may have happened.

I understand that you're frustrated and I apologize again for this confusion. Thank you for your patience with us!

Briseida, I can certainly understand and see the cause of your concerns as it appears that you were charged and the transactions obviously say that they were made by Compassion. I'm so sorry that this has happened. As sad as this sounds, it may be that someone was able to access your banking information with a check, statement, or through your online banking and that they are charging your account with Compassion's name. I would encourage you to check with your bank to see if they can tell you where those charges originated from and hopefully give you some more information and that this will be resolved for you. I also sincerely hope that you would reconsider canceling your sponsorship of your precious child as this appears to clearly be a misunderstanding.

No, please cancel everything, I'd call the bank too so this can stop, if someone has access to my account I'd like stop everything than keep getting charged more.

Briseida, please allow me to first apologize for my earlier comment this morning. I was being defensive and not very understanding. I feel very strongly about this ministry and I truly believe in it but that's not an excuse and I'm very sorry. I need to learn to be more quick to listen and slow to speak. I understand that you are very concerned and I would be as well. As Emily mentioned, Compassion has stopped your automatic withdrawals and I know that they want to help you in any way that they can to resolve this. If you contact your bank, they might even be able to reverse those charges for you. I do believe that Compassion allows sponsors to send a check in each month instead of paying electronically. Is that something that you might consider at this point, at least until this is sorted out? Either way, thank you for the time that you've been a part of Compassion as an honored sponsor and God bless you.

Briseida, I respect your decision and I have made your child available for another sponsor today. I still have a team researching this situation further as we want to rectify this issue for you and I will email you when we find a resoluton regarding this situation.
