How do I cancel my sponsorship?

I want to cancel my sponsorship. My daughter has been disappointed from the beginning of our sponsorship because she does not get responses from her child when she writes. She writes often and gets nothing back. We got a letter last week that had been written by our sponsored child in September of 2015. We are not happy with our sponsorship and want to cancel.

Doris, I am so sorry to hear that you and your daughter have been so disappointed with the letter writing process and the sponsorship in general. We understand that it can take some time to develop a relationship through letters. I have honored your request and made Lourdjina available for another sponsor. Brenda, I am so sorry that you are sick and have lost your job as well. I am putting Stepanus back up for sponsorship this morning. I will be praying that the Lord would heal you and send you encouragement! Thank you for sponsoring Stepanus while you were able to.

Hi Jenna. It looks like you emailed our office this morning and another representative responded to you. In case you see this one first, I am certainly happy to help you and so sorry that you need to end your sponsorship of Mahelet. No matter what you decide, we will honor your request; however, I might have an option that will help you if this is due to financial strains. If that is the case, I am able to cover your sponsorship for the months of March through May completely as our gift to you. I am also willing to reduce your sponsorship rate to $19 a month from June through November if that would help you as well. Do let me know either way. In the meantime, I have stopped the automatic withdrawal from your account.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling, Alysia :(. I see that you just began with us and I know it can be exciting to support a child but if your circumstances don't allow this, we don't want it to burden you. As requested, I have made Adjovi available for another sponsor today. 

You're always welcome to sponsor again with us at anytime! Also, if you'd like to stay involved with our ministry, we have many other options available for you that enable you to make a difference in the life of a child outside of just sponsorship. You can support children in our program through a monthly donation to a fund in the amount of your choice that works in your budget, as well as just one time donations :).

I have to cancel as well. I have lost my job and cannot afford to continue with the sponsorship. I am terribly sorry. How do I cancel?

Emily, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your job. I know how stressful and uncertain this can be. I'll be praying for grace and peace for  you as you enter this new season. As you requested, I have made Jheral available for another sponsor.

Hi. I do not want to completely cancel my sponshorship of my child but is there anyway that it can be reduced a little bit at all? I found out in September that in order to have children we must use donor eggs as my ovaries have failed me. This broke my heart as we so desire to have kids and now are doing Invitro Fertilization to have children and had to take a loan out, which now we have monthly payment on that. We hope to have a miracle child this year, and at the same time I hate to think about canceling my sponsorship because of me trying to have a child but can it be lowered somehow? I also can not figure out what my username and password is and have typed in my sponsorship number and email and it gives me an error. My name is Michelle Buie - probably under Michelle Raia as my maiden name and also needed to update my address. My sponsor is  Ma Christina Gonzales- # 3041353. Thanks!

Michelle, my heart goes out to you and I'm praying for your family and for your situation. We serve such a good and faithful father and his timing is so perfect! I am ecstatic for your future little family :). I'm going to keep your family, this situation, your finances, and your precious child in my prayers. I have a very close friend that is actually in a very similar situation to you and I know the emotional toll it has taken on them as well as all of the decisions that come along with it. 

We are absolutely happy to help you and I'll let you know the options we have as I don't know the time frame you and your husband are looking at or the details of your budget and financial situation right now. But you are such a blessing to Ma Cristina and we want to help you maintain your relationship with her if we're able. 

One thing I can do for you is cover your support for her for the months of March, April, and May. This will be our gift to you and you will not have to reimburse Compassion for any of these months. Beginning in June, I would also be willing to temporarily reduce your monthly rate. Although I cannot make this reduced rate permanent, we can reduce it to $19 for up to six months. If after that time, your situation has not changed, we can come back and look at it again and see what we can do :). Please let me know if you're interested in these options and I'll update your account. 

I have updated the name on your account this morning as well :). It now reads, Michelle Buie. I adore the photo of you and your husband by the way, you're a lovely couple and look so happy. We actually received a letter from your child recently and it was returned to our office as undeliverable so I'm happy to hear that you have a new address we can re mail it out to! Thank you so much! Yes this has all been frustrating. My husband is amazing though and it really hasn't caused much if any toll on us as a couple, even though we're only working on year 2! We know it all things happen for the good that trust in Him. I was wondering why I had not gotten  a letter from her in awhile. I did not see any email though on how to reset my password and update address. 

and yes, that would be soo sooo very helpful if it could be covered for March, April and May. That will help a bunch and still keep the relationship with her and then the 6 months would help tremendously. I just hated the idea of taking away giving hope to one child simply so we could afford to have hope for our own child. It just didn't seem right nor fair and I couldn't bring myself to cancel it on a sweet child how needs it. Thank you for helping and your prayers! ...We plan to do IVF in April- so hopefully God blesses us with a success!

Hi Michelle! I have fully taken care of Ma Cristina's support through May. Starting in June, your donations will be reduced to $19 a month through November. I'm also resending you the email with your username/password and updating your address through your online account.

I really hate to do this but I'm afraid I am going to have to cancel my sponsorship for Adela Breatriz Lopéz Batz, number 210079.  My husband and me are going through a very tricky patch right now and I have a horrible feeling I know where it is going to end and I'll be a single Mum who earns a very low wage.  With this in mind please can you cancel and confirm that this has been done.  I really hope that Adela gets a new sponsor very quickly; she is a lovely little girl but right now I have to take care of me and my children.

I'm praying that God comforts and provides for you and brings you strength and peace through your circumstances. He's such a good God and is a God who works beautiful miracles every day! I can imagine how difficult this decision was for you so I just want to encourage you that you've been a blessing to sweet Adela and she loves you dearly. God has used you in her life to draw her closer to his heart and we appreciate the investment you've made in her life!

Patricia, I'm saddened to hear you need to discontinue your sponsorship of Pongsakorn. You have been such a faithful sponsor to him for almost eight years and I pray that everything is alright and that we have served you and your relationship with him well over the years.

Forgive me as I don't know your current situation, but if you're needing to discontinue because of short term financial difficulties, we would love to help you out for a time so that you can continue your relationship with Pongsakorn as he grows and gets closer to finishing our program.

Would it help you if we covered your support for the next three months? Beginning in June, we would be willing to temporarily reduce your rate to $19 for up to six months. Please let me know if either or both of these options would assist you during this time.

Thank you for the impact you've already made on your boy and for investing in his life for so much of his young life! In the meantime, I have stopped your automatic donations until we hear back from you.

Audrey, I am so sorry you're faced with this decision so soon after starting to support Tinsae. May I ask, is this due to a financial difficulty? If you think that your situation might turn around in a few months, we would be happy to work with you to help you to be able to continue the relationship that you have started with Tinsae. For example, we could cover your support for three months and then lower your support amount to $19 for six months after that. Please let me know if this would help. If not, let me know and I'll make Tinsae available for another sponsor.

I need to cancel my sponsorship for Sifen Zalalem sponsor number 3633198 as much as it breaks my heart. I can't afford it anymore due to being only 17 and having to pay for college and car insurance and all that great stuff.. :(

Karaline, your heart to help children in need is so inspiring! Thank you so much for all that you have done for Sifen in the time that you  have sponsored her! I understand that college is expensive and adulting is hard, especially when you are just starting out on your own. :( As you requested, I have made Sifen available for another sponsor. There is another option that you might consider. You could write to a child who has a sponsor but their sponsor is unable to write. There would be no financial commitment but only a commitment to write at least three letters of encouragement a year to the child you are assigned. Please let us know if you are interested in this option.

Karaline, thank you for your desire to write to a child! I have added you to the waiting list to receive a child at the next opportunity! You actually don't have to do anything else on your end :). When a child becomes available for you to write, we'll mail you a packet of information on your new kiddo with information on how to begin corresponding! :) Let us know if you have questions in the meantime!

Hi Sheryl. I am so sorry you need to end your children's sponsorships, but I certainly understand and can assist you. Before I put them back up for sponsorship, we may have an option that can assist you if this is due to financial concerns. Compassion would be able to cover your missed donations and donations through May completely for you. We can also reduce the sponsorship rates to $19 per month per child for up to six months, which would be from June through November. This is our gift to you. You do not need to make up for the donations at any point. If that would help you, please let me know. Otherwise, let me know and I will cancel both of the sponsorships.
