I'm behind on my sponsorship - I just made a payment for December but I dont' know if I can make one for January. Finances have been too tight --  I should be able to make Feb's by the end of the month.  I apologize - I thought I had paid December's but I don't think I can do January's right now - I might be able to spread it out over the next few months -- I sponsor three children.  Are there options? Thanks

Hi Kel! I am sorry to hear that you are struggling but I am so glad you posted here. We are happy to help! What if we were to cover the month's missed through the end of March and then lower your support amount to $19 for three months through the end of June? Would this help? Please let me know because we have other options or if you need to cancel, I can certainly help you with that as well.

Hi - I don't think that's even necessary - I just paid Dec today but I don't think I can swing January's payment (it was a slow business month for me!)  I think I should be able to do Feb's though, just not yet :)  I just got too far behind (I thought I had paid December but realized today I hadn't so that's what I did today)  thanks for your help!   Definitely don't want to cancel:)

Kel, I completely understand and have brought all of your children current through the end of January. Please don't worry about giving support for that month as this is our gift to you. Once you're able to send in support for February, your account will be current. If your situation doesn't improve like you anticipate, let us know and we're happy to help. I pray that business picks up for you soon! Thanks for continuing to support your precious kiddos:).

Katie, I am so sorry to hear that you're struggling and can no longer afford to support Alizon. We certainly did not want this sponsorship to burden you and I have made her available for another sponsor today. Please know that you're always welcome to come back and sponsor again at any time. We appreciate your heart for Alizon and for the time that you sponsored her.

Earlier this week I decided to sponsor a child. I am currently in college and had wiggle room with money, but just ran into some unexpected expenses and need to cancel my sponsorship of Nancyana Paliling. I wish I could sponsor a child and maybe could afford it in the future.

Lexie, I completely understand finances being tight in college especially having other expenses on top of rent, tuition, and books! I appreciate your desire to sponsor a child and the sacrifice you were making with the little wiggle room that you did have. I have made Nancyana available for another sponsor today. Please know that you're part of the Compassion family and are always welcome to sponsor again with us when you feel like you can afford it :). God bless you and good luck in school!

Please cancel my auto payment and sponsorships for Freddy NI1590221 and Martin PE2440841. We have been sponsors for many years and are at a place where we are not able to continue due to financial reasons. I know that God will meet all of our needs and also the needs of these two children we can no longer support. I appreciate the ministry of Compassion and wish you all continued success.

Heidi, as requested, I have stopped your automatic donations effective today. I am so sorry to hear that your family is experiencing financial difficulties. Your family has been a part of this family for over 30 years. Please know how deeply grateful we are for your partnership and the eternal impact you have made on children's lives over the years.

Before I completely cancel your account today, I wanted to make sure you were aware that we do have options available for our sponsor's if your situation is short term. Because you have been building a relationship with these children, we want to help you maintain that sponsorship if we're able to assist you!

You have very generously been giving an extra $10 each month towards our Partners of Compassion fund. If we were to remove this altogether, your rate would be reduced from $86 each month to just the $76 for child support. Compassion would be willing to cover the next three months of support for your family. We would also be willing to temporarily reduce your rate to $19 per child each month for up to six months beginning in June. If your situation does not improve in that time, we could also consider just keeping one child on your account to reduce your permanent monthly rate even further.

You certainly know your situation better than I do, so please let me know if any or all of the above options would help you out during this time. I would be happy to update your account for you. If not, I understand and we are truly grateful for the time you were with our family. If this will not help you, I can make your children available for another sponsor.

Emily,

Thanks for offering to make changes to our pledge.  Unfortunately, we need to go ahead cancel our sponsorship.  Besides giving to compassion we have given to World Help and World Hope.  We give to people we know who are seeking support for mission trips and service projects.  In addition to our tithe and our church building fund.  We just cannot continue to do everything.  We love the work you do at Compassion and wish you the best.  Perhaps the Lord will bring us back at some point...but for now we feel He has released us to use our support and giving in other areas.  Thanks for understanding and I appreciate you going ahead and taking care of it for us.

Blessings,

Heidi

Heidi, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we can understand and appreciate that you are praying and listening for God's leading regarding where you are to faithfully give. We place our sponsors and our ministry continually in God's hands, and boy we are in good hands! :) May God bless you for what you have done and for what you continue to do in His name! I have made Martin and Freddy available for other sponsors.

Emily, I'm sorry to hear that you are faced with such a difficult decision. :( It looks like maybe you are in school (from your email address) and I know how tough it can be to sponsor a child with all the expenses of getting through college as well. Would it help if we were to cover your support through the end of the semester in May? Please let me know if this would help to get you through a rough spot. If it's looking like you need to stop sponsoring long term, let me know and I will make Widman available for another sponsor.

Debbie, it saddens me to hear that you need to cancel your support of Josiah. I see that you have been his sponsor for almost five years now. May I ask if there was anything that we could have done to better serve you? You have been such a faithful sponsor to him over the years and we want to make sure that everything is alright.

I apologize as I do not know your current situation, but if this is due to financial difficulties, we would love to help you out for a time while you get back on your feet and hopefully assist you in continuing your support of Josiah. We would be willing to cover your support for the next three months and we can also reduce your rate temporarily to $19 per month for up to six months.

Please let me know if either or both of the above options would help you out and I can update your account. If not, I can make Josiah available for another sponsor today. In the meantime, I have stopped your automatic donations from your account.

Tory, I am so sorry to hear that you're financial situation is causing you to need to discontinue your sponsorship. I know how difficult that decision must have been but we certainly understand and do not want this to be a burden on you. I can make your child available for another sponsor, today. Regrettably, I was unable to locate your account by your name and email address. Would you please post your child's reference ID on here? I will process your request at that time.

I too, need to cancel our sponsorship due to indefinite financial difficulties. Her name is Lisbeth Estefania Calapina ToaPanta (EC4830330).

How can I know for sure this has been taken care of? In my opinion, there should be an option within our account...

Thank you,

Ryan,

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We simply like to speak with sponsors and donors prior to their cancellation to receive feedback on our program and to see if there is any way that we can help if the difficulty is not long term. The situations in which we offer short term assistance are handled on a case-by-case basis and can't really be done through an automatic online system. Again, you are more than welcome to post here, email ciinfo@compassion.com, or call 800-336-7676 and we will take care of your cancellation as soon as possible.

Regrettably, in your situation, it looks like there is another name on this sponsorship and you are not listed anywhere. Please have Mark contact us using one of the above methods and we will take care of this right away. As soon as the cancellation is complete, you will no longer be able to view your sponsored child when you log in.  If Mark posts here or emails, we would also be happy to send him a confirmation email. Either way, you will receive an official confirmation in the mail.

As she stated, we would like to cancel our sponsorship due to financial reasons that are not going to clear up any time soon. We do not wish to receive any help. Please just cancel it. The child's name and ID number are in Ryan's above post.

Thank you,
Mark

Sergio, I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling financially and are faced with such a difficult decision. It looks like you also emailed and we have stopped your automatic withdrawal to make sure that it does not go through for March. If it would help you in your unique situation, we would be happy to cover three months for you and then lower your support amount to $19 for six months. Please let us know if this would help. If not, let us know and we will make Kevin available for another sponsor.

Please let me know if this would help. If not, let me know and I will make both of your children available for other sponsors. As a courtesy, I have stopped your automatic withdrawal.

My sponsorship number: 2971971
The child I need to discontinue sponsoring: LK1090021

I'm a college student that is about to be getting married. I was living with my parents when I took on the responsibility of sponsoring a second child. Now that I'm about to have a house and bills to pay, I have talked to my fiance and we've seen that it isn't in our future budget to sponsor two children. I am still wanting to sponsor my first child because I have sponsored him for 2 years and our budget will allow it. I'm very saddened that I will no l longer be able to sponsor Lakshika. She is such a happy girl from the letters I got to the picture I got of her. I'm sure she'll have a sponsor fast and I will continue to pray for her as long as I can.

I unfortunately will need to cancel my sponsorship. I am a full-time nursing student and can not afford to sponsor my child, especially since I am not currently working. I have tried calling someone a couple months ago thinking it was resolved, yet i am still receiving mail concerning payments. If someone can help me resolve this issue, that would be great! I do in the future want to sign up for compassions again but for the next couple years i will not be able to. I hope the best for Samara Nyankom (GH9420207) and may God bless her and her family. I apologize that i can not afford sponsoring her any longer.

Hannah, I am sorry for any misunderstanding there might have been the last time you spoke with us! I have made Samaria available for another sponsor today and please know that you're always welcome to come back and sponsor with us again at any time. Please know that we certainly understand and I have several friends in the nursing field so I can empathize with you as that field is very time consuming and expensive! :) But I commend you for your passion to serve and bless others in such a selfless way and I pray that school goes well for you and that the Lord would provide for you financially during this time. God bless you and thank you for partnering with us for the time that you did! :)

Shauna, I am so sorry to hear that you're struggling and we certainly don't want this to be a burden on you. I am able to make Samerawit available for another sponsor for you. Before I do this however, would it help you out at all if we were able to cover your support until the end of June and then temporarily reduce your rate to $19 for six months beginning in July? You know your circumstances better than I do and so if not, I understand and place your girl back up for sponsorship. But we value the relationship you're building with her and want to make sure you have that option available to you before we cancel your account. Wow, Devan, it sounds like you are in a tight space. I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling so much! :( As you may have noticed, we do have options for sponsors going through a short term financial difficulty but it sounds like your situation is much more serious than that. Also, it is very kind of you to want to make up the support that was missed for your sponsored child. However, if we were to make your child available for another sponsor, you would not be responsible for the support that was missed. Please let us know if you are wanting to make a donation now towards the missed support first or whether you wanted to just make your child available for another sponsor right away.

I've been without a job for several months and I don't have much left in my bank account. I'm not sure how long it will be until I find my next employment. If I were to cancel my sponsorship, how long will it take to process and will I be able to write a goodbye letter to my child?

Maria, I am so sorry to hear that you have been out of work for so long as I know unemployment can be a very uncertain and straining time. If you were to cancel your sponsorship, we can process it right away. You would also be able to write a goodbye letter to your child. I really encourage final letters because they help to bring closure for both you and the child. I do want to throw out there that if you think there may be any possibility that things might turn around, we would be happy to cover a few months' support for you. If not, we certainly understand. Just let us know and we will make your child available for another sponsor.

Please let us know if there was any way that we could have served you better as we value the investment you made in Jiliva's life as her sponsor and we are grateful for the time that you partnered with us. You're welcome back if you ever feel led to sponsor again in the future! God bless you :).
