Are you talking about the program which supplies funding for children with greater medical needs? I think you just go to the additional giving tab (under my account online) and select a monthly commitment to the medical assistance fund.

Hi Vivian! We would be happy to add a commitment to the Medical Assistance Fund to your account! The suggested donation is $7 monthly which with the sponsorship comes out to $45 total monthly. Regrettably, we have several Vivian Harris' in our system so I was unable to locate your account to take care of this for you. Please post your child's ID number here. You are also welcome to add the commitment yourself by logging into your "My Account" and clicking on the button for "Additional Giving." Use the drop-down menu next to "Make a Monthly Commitment to" to select "Medical Assistance" and the amount.

Hi Susan, I got the sense that Andrea was interested in increasing her monthly donation to augment the medical care for the child she's sponsoring. Under "Additional Giving" it appears that the donation amount is allocated for general use and not specifically for the sponsor's child. Am I wrong?

Isn't medical support already included in the $38? Let me know if I am wrong.

Hi Adri. Yes the $38 covers medical care for sponsored children.

Hi Mark and Adri! Yes, your sponsorship does indeed ensure that your child receives regular checkups and preventative health care :). If a child is in need of extra medical attention above what the normal sponsorship provides, then the medical assistance fund will cover this additional cost. This fund makes it possible for us to help children if they become sick or have a special need. We are very grateful for your generous hearts and the love you have for your children. Please rest assured that your child will receive this additional care should they ever need it whether you give to this fund or not. We will make sure that your child receives the care they need :). However, if you know that your child has a special need or is likely to need additional help, then we are very grateful for your donations.

We chose to do $45 a month for our child to include extra medical preventatives. When I looked at our bank statement today it showed $38 and $45 being withdrawn. Is this correct? My understanding is that it would only be $45.

Hello Magan, I apologize for the confusion. When the account is first established, there is a pre-authorization of $38 run through the credit card to ensure that it works. This $38 will fall off within a few days. The monthly contribution of $45 will be processed completely and moving forward this will be the only amount charged. I appreciate your understanding and I am sorry if this caused any inconvenience or concern.
