How do I connect directly with a Compassion Volunteer that works with my child or is responsible for the program in his country? I want to know more about our sponsored child and how we can help them further. My sponsored child is growing up and soon will be out of the program. I want to know how we can help him in the future to achieve all his goals and dreams.

Hi Steve! I appreciate your concern for Marcos and his growth. Regrettably, sponsors are not able to communicate directly with the child development staff at the church. We partner with and through churches that are already established in the countries we serve. The church employs their staff and they are not Compassion employees. They are very busy working with the children and providing for their needs and do not have the resources to also speak directly with Compassion supporters. That is why we at Compassion have the Sponsor and Donor Relations team, we are your direct contact and are available to serve our supporters with any questions or concerns that you may have. Honestly, the best way you can help Marcos right now is to continue to sponsor him and to write him. You are welcome to address your concerns directly with him and ask him how you can best support him through these teen years. Marcos is able to continue the Compassion program up to the age of 22. We would encourage him to receive a high school education and then go on to obtain the additional training and education that he will need to pursue a career. Your letters really can make a huge difference in his life. Research shows that the children in our program receiving regular correspondence have a better self worth, do better in school and are more actively engaged. Thank you so much for your continued support of Compassion and for the difference that you are making in Marco's life. Please let me know if there is anything more I can help with.
