Hello,
I am moving into a time in my life (college) where I will no longer be working and am planning on eventually needing to take out a bank loan to afford the cost of living, Lord willing. I have set aside almost a year's worth of money for my sponsored child. Is it possible to pay this lump sum to cover him for the next year or so, but cancel my monthly subscription? I ask this with heavy heart; its not what I want to do at all but my father does not even know that I am sponsoring a child and he would probably not approve of me spending the $38 a month once I stop working and go to college in a couple months.. We are likely going to review my finances soon and I don't want Dilas's money to be considered as though it were for myself.
Thank you for any help, and for this opportunity to support Dilas.

Brianna, I remember the difficulty of going into college and trying to support myself and my sponsored child. It is a challenge, and one that isn't always possible to sustain. What a blessing that you've been able to save enough money to support Dilas for the next year though! Yes, you can certainly pay the lump sum to cover his sponsorship, and we can remove your payment method from the automatic withdrawal. My question would be would you like to continue writing letters back and forth with Dilas for however long that lump sum covers his sponsorship so that you can continue your relationship with him? I just want to make sure we are clear on exactly what we are doing, whether that is just removing the automatic donations for now with a lump sum replacing those, or if you are needing to immediately cancel the sponsorship as well.

Unfortunately, I would rather cancel the sponsorship altogether. Thank you for being so understanding. How do I go about sending the money?

I completely understand, Brianna! If you want to give the lump sum donation using the card that we already have on file, I can actually do it for you and then cancel the sponsorship if you let me know how much you are wanting to send. Otherwise, you can also make a one time donation through your online account by clicking on "Make a Payment" or give by phone if you would like to. Our phone number is 800-336-7676.

Thank you! I would like to be charged for $342 and then have my sponsorship cancelled. Thank you again so much for your help with this. My heart is truly sad about having to stop the sponsorship; hopefully I will be able to sponsor a child once I have more reliable income. Thank you for all your help. God bless you and Compassion.

Brianna, I have taken care of the donation and of canceling the sponsorship for you. I hope you have a wonderful experience in college!
