I assume the money I send would be transfered into their currency, but how much should I send? How much actually makes a difference?

Hi Theresa! Thank you so much for wanting to bless your kiddos in this tangible way :). Please rest assured that any amount that you choose to give will definitely make a difference, and we don't usually recommend an amount to give to your child except for the Christmas gift which we recommend giving $25. You may send a birthday gift or a "general gift" to your child, not to exceed $100, once per year. The Compassion staff will help assure that your children can get both a "want" and a "need" with your gift funds. You may also send a family gift of $25 to $1,000 each year. In this case, the Compassion staff will meet with the family when the gift is delivered to help them decide how the money should be spent and guide them in using the money wisely. You can expect to receive a thank you letter from your children about six months after the gift is given, letting you know what was purchased, and if the gift amount is $60 or more you will also receive a photo of what was purchased. Please be aware that Compassion will utilize a small percentage of your individual child-gift donation for the ministry's administration and program delivery costs of the gift. We greatly appreciate your heart to bless your children in this special way!
