Hi. I was just wondering how often our letters are actually sent to the country of the children we sponsor? For example, If I send 2 letters a month are they sent together to country or do letters go out as they come in.

There's a great video here that explains the path the letters take and exactly what happens: http://blog.compassion.com/a-sponsors-letter-from-gayle-to-her-child/  (I haven't watched it in a bit so I forget the exact answer to your question, but pretty sure that video will answer it haha!)

One thing to note, no matter when the letters go out, each project has a different way of distributing them.  The most common way seems to be that they have a letter day once a month.

Hi Lisa! The video that Teresa provided is a great resource and I hope that it helps give you a visual of how our letter process works!

To answer your question; when your letters to your sponsored child reach our Colorado Springs office they are mailed once a week to each country office. After the letters go through customs, the country office receives and distributes them to translators. They are then are sorted by child development center and placed in each center’s bin. Our center staff members will pick up the letters to distribute to your child anywhere from weekly to once a month, depending on how far that child development center is located from the country office.
