Oh I am so so sorry that I gave you so much extra work!! Thank you so much for caring enough and taking the time to look for me. My Rosa has always been pictured in traditional clothing so I guess I thought it was more common than it is!

Isn't she beautiful :). I think I will wait on sponsoring another child right now. Thank you so much!

I would like to correspond with another young person if I may, preferably an older young person :)
I've got a heart especially for those transitioning toward full adulthood, so I'd love to correspond with an LDP (if that is even a possibility) or a student maybe 15+ years of age? My sponsor number is 3608327.

Hi Debi! Thank you for your heart for the young adults in our program. This is such a critical age for students as they develop in their potential and make goals for themselves! I have requested that you be assigned an LDP student to write to. If we don't have any come available in the near future for you, I made a note that you would also be willing to write to a child 15 or older :).

I saw Mbusa was added to my account and I look forward to corresponding with this young man.

Could you still keep me on the list in case a correspondent is sought for an LDP student?

I was hoping to be added for a girl from HO and the DR in addition to my other request. If that's not possible I understand. I liked where that put me number wise and wanted to complete my family with an additional child in those 2 countries.

We currently sponsor 3 children both financially and through correspondence.  We can't afford to financially support any more children at this time, but we would like to be added to the list of correspondence sponsors for 3 more children.
We would prefer:
All age 8+
One child from Asia, no gender preference, and not India;
One boy from either Bolivia, Brazil or Mexico;
One girl from either Bolivia, Brazil or Mexico.

Please let me know if this is a possibility.  Thank you!  Sponsor #: 2880948

Hi Cindy! We would be happy to have you writing to more children. I have added you to the waiting list for three correspondent children. Please make sure that you are able to make a commitment to write to all six children at least three times a year and let us know if you need to adjust your request at all. I wouldn't want to assign more children than you can handle and for you to get overwhelmed.

Wow!  That was quick!  I just looked onto my account a little while ago and noticed that 2 of the 3 new children are now on my account!  We shouldn't have any problems writing them at least 3 times/year since we try to write our already sponsored children at least monthly (sometimes every 2-3 months, depending on life events).  In fact, I hope to get our first letter off to them this week.  Just a couple of questions though:
1- Can you add a note for the last child (the girl) to be no older than 11-12?
2 - One boy's name is Mario on his profile but I've noticed he is referred to as Iyo in the rest of the description.  Is Iyo his preferred name and how we would refer to/greet him but put Mario as the identifying name of correspondence?
3 - How do we introduce ourselves to them?  I'm assuming they know they already have financial sponsors, so do I just say we will be writing them?  Or will they think they have two sponsors?  Also, is there a way to know a little bit of that history, for example, how long they've already been sponsored and whether or not they received any correspondence from anybody previously?
Thanks so much again.  We are looking forward to sharing with these new kids.

Cindy, as you requested, I have added a note regarding the last child. The boy from Indonesia is named Mario but his personal name or nickname is Iyo. This is why we are referring to him as Iyo. Our center staff explain to each child in an age appropriate way that you will be writing to them even though their sponsor is someone else. Sometimes the younger children may not fully understand the concept but we at least try to explain. I am sending you an email with some additional information about these two new kiddos and their history.

Okay, thank you!  I got the email.  Knowing a little bit of their history gives me some insight on their experiences with past sponsors and also how to approach the letter-writing process with them.  I will be sure to get a letter out to both boys within the next several days.  Thanks again!

Also Carmen from GU is still on my account.  If I send an unline letter will it still go through? .

Hi Deb! I added you to the waiting list this morning :). In regards to your online letter, if your child is still on your account and you're able to write and send a letter online, rest assured it will get to us. But once your child disappears from your online account, you will no longer be able to send a letter using that method.

Hi, Emily and Susan, I received a another girl from HO so I do not need to be on the waiting list for a girl from that country.  However, I lost another girl from EC today.  She got married and left the program.  I will send her a final letter congratulating her.;)  I asked the rep who called to add me to the waiting list for a girl from EC.  So at this point I should be on the list for one girl from EC and for any older children who you do not have anyone waiting to correspond with these kids.  Can you confirm that this is what you are showing.  I realize that I have communicated with you in various forms and I am sorry if I have caused confusion with that.  As always, I so appreciate all of the work that you are all doing for us the sponsors but even more for the difference you are making in the lives of the children.

Good morning, Deb! You were definitely added to the list for a child from Ecuador yesterday. Your request for a child from Guatemala was still on the list however, so I just updated it to be any older teenager so that you wouldn't lose your spot on the list. Thank you so much for clarifying so that we can make sure we are on the same page as you with your requests :).

Hi, ladies! So, I just got back from visiting my kids in Honduras and heard something so sad from the worker at two of my financially sponsored girls CDC. She said that so few of the kids get letters regularly, if at all, that they sometimes read my letters to the group of at least the class of students my girls attend, if not more. As a result, they had a whole little cheering section for me coming down there and the whole class has been praying for my mom's recovery and all that...It's just really, really touching. And also awful! I realize I may be a bit wordier than some and write more because of it, but what I heard there on my trip really drove it home as to the importance of getting regular correspondence. All that being said (I did admit to going on and on), may I please be added for 3 correspondents from HO, preferably under 14. I don't care about gender. I may as well put my blah-blah-blah-ing to good use!

Hi!
Please can you add me to the list to write to six more children - any countries, any gender, any age. Thank you!
Also,in my account I can see all the letters that I have sent online.  Could you check to see if the two parcels (containing letters and photos) that I sent to all the children arrived safely as I sent them from the UK and it would be good to know that they arrived safely before sending the next parcel of photos.  Thank you! Hi Susan, I sent the first parcel late February/Early March - I'm not sure of the exact date.  This parcel contained paper hearts that I made for all the children.  The second parcel I sent about 4-6 weeks ago and it contained about 12 photos (family photos) for each child so about 150 photos in total.
The address I used was the 'contact us' address on the website.  I can't remember it exactly but it definitely had 'Compassion International' and' Colorado Springs' in the address , so it ought to have got there :(
I was about to send another parcel of photos but am a bit reluctant to send via post if the parcels are not reaching the Compassion office there.

Issac (GH924 0248) has disappeared from my account.  Has his sponsor dropped him or decided to write, or has he left the programme?

Thanks - for all that you and the team at Compassion do.

I love how picky you let us be with our correspondent children and you're always so gracious in filling our requests - Compassion has the BEST staff!! Now that I've buttered you up - can I request 3 more correspondent kids? Here's the catch - I would like them to have birthdays in April, June, and August. Can that be done? I prefer older kids but I'll take whoever is waiting! Thanks!!

Susan - rumor has it I'm picking up a boy named Orlando from BO641 from Kelly (via the FB group) whose birthday is 4/18/03 so that takes care of my request for an April birthday. If that matches the info you have from Kelly, you can take my April birthday request off the list. Thanks!
