It is with deep regret that after over nine years of sponsoring a child, I can no longer continue to do so financially. How do I end my sponsorship? Thanks!

Hi Marty! I'm so sorry to hear that you're being faced with this difficult decision but I'm happy to help you walk through this process. There are some options that may be able to help you keep your sponsorship. I understand that these options do not work for everyone and sometimes you cannot responsibly continue but I wanted to at least let you know all of the options that you have.

We would be happy to cover your support for three months. Then we could lower your rate to $19 per month for up to six months. We would cover the difference so that Ajetha would continue to receive the same amount of support during these months. Please let me know if either or both of these options would help you keep your relationship. If not, let me know and I'll make Ajetha available for another sponsor.

I would love to be able to do this, I really hate not being able to continue on in my supporting Ajetha. Lets do what you suggest and I will continue to ask God to help in my covering the full committment. I have been sick just trying to figure this out and feel the extra time you mention may allow time for something to open up and allow me to return to the full committment amount.

Marty, I have taken care of this for you so you are covered through the end of January and then we will start your $19 rate in February. I'm happy to help and I'll be praying that God will provide for you in this time.

Nakia, I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling financially right now. I noticed that you're a little behind and wanted to let you know that we are happy to cover your support through the end of June if it would help you to keep the relationship with your child. Please let me know if this would help. If not, let me know and I'll make your child available for another sponsor.

Hi Sarah! I am happy to help you. I am so sorry that you are experiencing financial struggles right now. I understand how hard times like this can be and I am praying that God will continue providing for you.  I see that you have been sponsoring Lenard for almost 3 years now and have been such a faithful sponsor to your boy. I have stopped your automatic withdrawl so that no further support comes out of your account. There are some options that I would love to give you to consider if they might help you out until your situation improves.

Because you are current through the end of July, I would be happy to cover August through October for you and set your next pull date so that it would not withdrawl until November 15th. At that time, if things are improving for you, we can continue your sponsorship at a rate of $19 for up to 6 months. Please let me know if this would help you and I will update your account. If not, we certainly understand and I am still able to discontinue your sponsorship.

Thank you for you help! I really would like to continues sponsoring him I just am having a hard time at the moment. Is it possible to do the 3 months and then go to $19 a month? Will $19 still be enough to pay for everything he needs??

Sarah, I have taken care of this for you so you are covered through the end of October and then we will start your $19 rate in November. During the time that your rate is reduced, Compassion covers the difference so that Lenard continues to receive the same amount of support during these months. Your rate will return to $38 beginning in April of 2015. I'm happy to help and I pray that God will provide for you in this time.  :)
