I am a current sponsor of a child that I have enjoyed corresponding with and supporting for several years now. In listening to "A Day of Compassion" on KTLF this week, I felt the Lord was impressing on my heart to get involved in another child's life but I hadn't come to a decision until my daughter sent an email out this morning concerning a little girl's packet that came to her by way of a friend that had a heart for this little one but couldn't financially sponsor her and wanted her to go to a good home. My daughter has had a desire to sponsor a little girl from Africa the same age as her little girl, and that had the same birth month, because her preschool class sponsored one and her little girl always talked about her sponsor sister. Without my daughter knowing the details beforehand, the litte girl in this packet was the same age and the same birth month from Africa, and precious as could be in her picture; however, after discussing it as a family, they are not financially able to take on this responsibility themselves and were heartbroken. In reaching out to several of us through an email with this situation, I felt God was saying "this is who I have chosen for you" so I now have a new sponsor child and she will be sponsored not only by me but by my 4 grandchildren to write to and love on verbally. God made the decision for me and placed a child in front of me that I could not question. I am so looking forward to sharing this with my grandchildren and watch how they grow to love this little one long-distance. Thank you, Compassion, for what you do...God bless your ministry.
