I am sponsoring a future leader and would like to know what is the breakdown (by percentage) of how the $300 monthly is used. I realize there are some administrative costs to enable the logistics of the program. In addition, I am guessing this money pays for college tuition, housing, food, books, clothes, healthcare? The website says surprisingly little, only that funds go toward "critical support for the Leadership Development Program." What is this 'critical support' and what goes directly to the young woman I support vs to a generic general fund for this program? I would really love to see a breakdown, by percentages, of how the $300 is allocated. Thank you so much!

Hi Diana and Denise!

We so appreciate all that you are doing to develop your student leaders! You are helping to provide your Leadership Development Program student with:

Academic Assistance:  Including assistance with tuition, textbook cost, room and board as a full-time Bachelor's degree student at an accredited university.

Leadership Training:  Including instruction in and application of a full range of leadership principles and skills from a Christian worldview. This is in the form of retreats, camps, seminars and service opportunities that
equip and inspire them to be confident Christian leaders.

Mentoring: Each student develops a relationship with a Christian mentor to guide them in developing as a Christian professional

Discipleship: Each student is involved in a local church and is grounded in group and personal Bible Study

Healthcare: Each student receives an annual checkup and access to medical support when needed

Our commitment for all of our programs (including the Leadership Development Program, the Child Survival Program, and the Child Sponsorship Program) is that no less than 80% of the funds we receive will go towards the children and students we serve. No more than 20% is used for administrative and marketing costs. The last few years we have been able to give closer to 85% of the funds we receive towards our children and students. This means that roughly $240 of your $300 is going towards the above programming for your specific student.
