Our church sponsors a child from Indonesia.  Earlier this year, the Sunday School held a fund raiser and 610 dollars was raised.  We gifted Andy 100 for a general gift, 100 for a birthday gift, 25 dollars to the communal Christmas fund  and the rest of it 385 was the family gift.
We  received a thank-you letter 2 weeks ago with 3 photos.
Incredible!  Andy and his family bought, a watch for him, several new outfits and shoes, a refrigerator, a rice-cooker, a wardrobe , a huge mattress (Queen Size) , something to store the left over goods that his mother sells in the market,... hmmm not sure what exactly but it looks like the money as spent to build an extension to their home because he is pictured outside an area with bricks and building of some sort going on., bags of rice, and  a gas stove.
