I was just wondering what an appropriate amount of letters to send my child is. Like, I know that they love to receive letters, but would it make it less special if I sent too many. Once a week, once a month? Any suggestions?

Hey Jake! I'm so happy to hear that you are excited to write to your child regularly! Frequency is really up to you. My best advice is to go with a schedule that you can stick to. For example, if you write once a week now then suddenly don't write for a month the child might be disappointed. For this reason, I try to write to all of mine once a month then reply to any letters that I receive from them as this is a schedule that I can keep up. The most important thing is just that you write to them.

I think Emily has some great advice! I try to write once a month, and then if I get a letter from my child I also write a reply that month.

Is it possible to know how often they receive letters? My child lives in a very remote area. If he only receives letters from Compassion every other month or something, I'd hate for him to get a big bundle of letters at once-- that might be overwhelming for a small child, and I wouldn't want him to have more than he can "take in," does that make sense?

Is there a way to know how often they get their mail?
