I'm 16 so the only way I can sponsor a child is with money and I want to give a monetary christmas gift to my child. How am I supposed to send the gift? I don't want it to just get lost.

Hi, Hannah!

I wouldn't recommend sending cash through the mail.  My 14 year old daughter (also named Hannah) also sponsors a child.  Since she does not have a credit card or checking account, we have her monthly donation linked to her savings account and Compassion pulls the monthly donation automatically from that.  She was also able to donate to the Christmas Fund using that same account.  Would something like that work for you?  Or maybe your parents could write a check and you could pay them back.  Just make sure you put your sponsor # and purpose of the gift (i.e. Christmas gift) on the memo line.

I think it is great that you sponsor a child, and I hope you get it figured out!

Money orders are another option -- you can get them at the post office.  You pay the amount you want and a small fee (maybe $1), and they give you a cheque-type thing that you fill out, put in an envelope and mail.

How about a money order or pre pay debit or pre pay credit card
