I haven't received a letter from my child in over two years. I have put a lot of money in this program and if she isn't receiving my letters then how do I know she is getting my money. Please help. I want to make a difference and need to know what's up.

Matt, I m just another sponsor like you but I wanted to assure you that someone from Compassion will look into this for you after the weekend. You should receive a minimum of one letter every six months. If at any point in your sponsorship experience you go longer than six months without hearing from your child, Compassion will do an inquiry for you. All you have to do is ask! If it's been two years, I've no doubt they will look into it for you.

Matt, I am another sponsor, too. This is definitely unusual. I have been sponsoring for over 13 years and have several children and haven't ever had this happen. A sponsor can request an inquiry if we haven't had a letter for six months and I have done that. We can also call the 800 number and ask if there is a letter on the way. The letters are scanned on the bar code on the stationery in the country office and again when they arrive in Colorado Springs and I guess it gets linked to our financial accounts at that time. Canadian sponsors can actually check to see if they have a letter on the way on their online accounts although so far we can't do that on our U.S. Accounts. I am certain Emily or Susan (Compassion Employees that answer the questions raised here) will be able to get to the bottom of this mystery, let you know what happened and make sure a letter is on its way as soon as it is possible.

You should also be getting more than the minimum 2 letters a year if you write to your child more than twice a year.

is there any chance that Compassion doesn't have the right address for you?  Do you have an online account with them?  If not, you can go to www.compassion.com and open one.  That would show your current information, and whether it is accurate or not.

Matt, I am so sorry for the frustration in regards to the letters and support you have sent. As a donor, you are completely entitled to know exactly where your support is going and the difference you are making. Your child is required to write at least two letters each year or one every six months. In looking at your account, it looks like Daniella has actually sent you three letters in 2015 so far and she also sent three letters in 2014. While we have never had any letters sent back to us in the mail, I am concerned that we might not have a correct address for you. For your convenience, I am emailing you the mailing address that we have on file. Please confirm whether this is still a good address for you or help us to update your address. We appreciate all of the love and support that you have provided for Daniela over the last four years. Please know that the letters and donations you have sent have reached her over the years and are making a huge difference.
