I only hear from mine about twice a year. I wish it was more.

I have 3 children. One writes every couple of months, one about 3 times a year and the other only about once a year. It depends on their age and how busy they are. My older kiddos work to help support their families and don't always have time.

Hi Serene,

Please know, that like other supporters have said, it is hard to know when you will hear from your child. Each center has a letter writing day every two months, and so often times kiddos will write each time there is a letter writing day. However, the child will only write if they have a letter to reply to. Otherwise, they will write twice per year at minimum. Also, on occasion, a child will miss a letter writing day, so it may be a couple additional months before they have the opportunity to write to you. Again, please know we understand you are so excited to hear from them! We pray that your relationship will continue to grow and that you will hear from them soon!

In addition, if it is ever a full six months between hearing from your kiddo, please let us know and we can send an inquiry to make sure everything is okay! :)

I understand, but it also said on your website that if you give a gift of $60 or more you will get a picture confirmation of what was bought. If the child is busy it’s fine but will the center still give me a confirmation of what was gifted to the child? I sent a personal gift as well as a birthday gift.

You should get the thank you letter (with picture if over $60) within 6 months of giving the gift. If you don't, let them know and they'll bug them for it. (I've had to do that a few times, but often I do get the thank you without it).  Money is only sent once a month. And then it takes time to determine what the family needs and go to market, etc.  But it is so rewarding to see how they spend the money.  My favorite was the family who built an entire kitchen with a family gift (and had money left over for the dress my girl is wearing. And the goat)
