You have two options for this.

1) You can send money to the child as a child gift and write a "suggestion" that the child purchase a doll.  The child and their family may or may not follow the suggestion, a lot of times they do but sometimes if there is a more urgent need they do not.  Basically the money is the gift and they are free to do what they want with it (within reason.  Compassion staff will help them with purchasing to make sure money isn't being used for anything like drugs/alcohol etc. )

2) If you know of someone travelling to your child's country you can send the doll with them and they can mail the doll from within the child's country to the main office for that country and they will make sure that it reaches your child.  (I have sent several gifts to my kids this way.  You can find people travelling to the kids countries on facebook in the Compassion correspondent group sometimes, if you are not a part of the group, Compassion staff can add you at some point in the near future)

(PS I'm not staff but a long time sponsor/correspondent that happens to know the answer.  Staff will be along to reply soon too I am sure)
