Beth, I am so sorry that you need to cancel your sponsorship :(. I can certainly help you with this. Is there anything Compassion could have done to serve you better? If this is due to a financial concern, Compassion would love to help by covering your donations for the months you had missed in early spring last year as well as July through September. We can also reduce your sponsorship amount to $19 a month for October through February. Please let me know if this would help or if you still need to cancel.

My daughter had signed up for this when she was in youth at a conference and now she has graduated high school and no longer will be working and can not afford to pay for this.  Also she does not like the fact that the original child she sponsored has been changed to another child and was never notified.

Beth, I completely understand the need to cancel, and I am so sorry for the confusion with a new child being placed on the account when her original child left the program. I have taken care of canceling the sponsorship today. With the majority of sponsors asking to sponsor another child immediately after one child leaves the program, we have a system in place that automatically sends out a packet with information on a new child to consider for sponsorship. Included in that packet is a request for the sponsor to let us know if they do not wish to sponsor the new child. The request states that if the sponsor does not contact Compassion within a certain length of time, the child will be automatically accepted onto their account. Because we had sent the request with the packet in March 2017, and hadn't heard back from Natalie, we accepted Nicoll as her sponsored child in May 2017. I apologize if you did not receive this letter of explanation! Know that we did cancel Nicoll's sponsorship today, and you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail within the next two weeks.
