I need to cancel my sponsorship. It truly saddens me to have to do this to sweet Collin! I am a single mom and have just been laid off from my job so I am unable to afford this right now financially. I am not sure how long I will be out of work. I am so very sorry. How can I stop my automatic withdrawals? Thank you

Good morning Christy,
I am so sorry to hear about you losing your job and that it is causing financial stress! I will be happy to take care of anything you need going forward. However, before I cancel your sponsorship of Collin, I want to make sure that you know that Compassion truly values our supporters and we would be blessed to able to help you keep your relationship with your sweet kiddo. Compassion would be happy to cover three months of sponsorship for you to allow you a small break from the financial commitment. This means we would completely cover the months of January through March. In addition, we would be happy to place you on a reduced rate of sponsorship for the following three months. This means that for the months of April through June your donation would be reduced to $19 per month. However, if you still feel it is best to cancel your sponsorship, please let us know and we will be happy to fulfill your wish to cancel. Please keep in mind that even if Compassion steps in and helps out a little bit, you can still cancel at any time if it takes you longer than expected to find a new job.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you so much for understanding. Yes, that would be great! Once I am back on my feet, do I just let you know the same way?

Hi Christy! Great question. So, if we set this up for you on the account, you would not make any contributions for the months of January through March. In April the contributions would resume pulling for $19 beginning on, April 8, 2018. I say the 8th because you currently have your automatic contribution set up for the 8th of the month. We can also change this for you, if you would like. We can set it to any day between the 1st through the 27th of the month. The reduced rate of $19 would be pulled in April, May and June. Then, your contribution would go back to the normal rate of $38 in July. Like Shannon said previously, if at any time you need to cancel, you are able to do so. Please let me know if you would like me to set this up for you. Thank you!

Christy, I have set this up on your account. I appreciate that you are willing to continue your sponsorship of Collin. You are able to continue to write him during this time, your relationship will not be affected in any way. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
