I need to stop my sponsorship. My account number is 01866537.
After sponsoring my child since February of 2011 and continually writing letters, I am no longer receiving them from her. This is very sad to me and I feel like Compassion is not the same as it used to be. Why have I not heard from her after having written to each other for so long??
I know longer feel comfortable with Compassion and need to discontinue my sponsorship.

Good morning Rachel, 

I am so sorry that you feel such disappointment with Compassion due to the delayed communication from your child. Although I would be more than happy to help you fulfill your request to cancel, I truly hope that we can resolve this issue so that you may continue your relationship with Naomi.  
I see that the last letter that you should have received from her was uploaded into our system on July 17th. This letter was just over 4 months ago. However, I do see there is a thank you letter in process from her for the very generous gift you recently gave. Furthermore, I see that prior to that, you had received a letter from her about every 2-3 months, which is truly wonderful! Most children do not write that often. Each child will write at least twice per year, but it looks like in your case, you have been very blessed with many more letters than that! :)
May I ask, are you feeling unsettled about Compassion only because of the delay on a reply letter from her? Is there anything else we can do to help you feel comfortable? If there is anything we can do, we would be happy to help! However, if you would still like to cancel, please know that I will be more than willing to also fulfill that request. We look forward to hearing back from you.

I would still like to discontinue my sponsorship. The letters online are great but I always enjoyed getting the hand written ones in the mail. Now I get scanned copies of these letters. Why am I not getting the original? Why is Naomi's letter a copy, and it makes me wonder if copies are being sent to other sponsors.
As for the previous letters, I would write a letter one month and would receive a letter the following month. Since my last letter in July I should have received a letter in August. It is just unusual for our relationship to have such a delayed letter.

Rachel, we do have the option of receiving the original letters. Would you like me to change your letter delivery preferences? Please note that this option will cause the letters to take much longer to arrive as they need to travel in the mail rather than electronically like the scanned letters. However, we are more than happy to do this for you. 

I also just wanted to clarify that you are the only one who receives your child's letters as this is a one-to-one sponsorship. In April 2016, we began scanning and sending most letters digitally to allow for faster letter delivery. We continue to mail stickers, bookmarks, musical cards, and greeting cards and we will mail you the physical child letter upon request. 

Please let us know how you would like to proceed. As I mentioned, I would be happy to change your letter delivery preferences. If you still would like to cancel, I will honor your request.

Rachel, I have processed your request to cancel your sponsorship of Naomi. I am very grateful that you were able to sponsor her for over six years and make such a difference in her life. I am truly sorry that we are not able to keep you connected, but I understand and respect your decision. You are welcome to write a good bye letter for Naomi and to let her know that you will continue to pray for her.
