My name is Karla Hofmann US3429364 I Sponsor Nataly Maria Ortiz Ruiz CO7450213 . I have a couple questions. One is She has a sister Natalia who is 7, is she in the Compasstion program ? Also I was wondering if at Nataly's center do the children receive letters only one time a month ? If so can you tell me when that is or around what time that is ?

Hi Karla!

Nataly's sister is not registered in Compassion's program. You might look at this conversation as well for more information about what happens with the siblings of sponsored children and why sometimes only one child is registered in Compassion's program.

Regrettably, I do not have record of what time of the month that the children receive the letters at Nataly's center. However, I do know that it often depends on how remote the area is and how close the center is to the country office. It looks like your child's area is relatively close to Bogota, where the country office is and there is a main road that goes directly there. Typically, the centers receive a bundle of letters every once a month or so when the Partnership Facilitator visits from the country office.

Thankyou for your replay. I have read that a lot of times it is just one child in the family so I was just checking. I got a letter this last Saturday from Nataly . I was so excited to get it !!!!!

I was under the impression they received letters weekly or biweekly. I write more often than that. I send gifts and write short notes to keep the kids spirits up and to let them know they are loved. Do I have any letters coming. I sponsor Agatha DaSilva Sales in Brazil.

Bridgette, I apologize for any confusion regarding the timeframe for children receiving letters from you. It takes 2-3 months for letters to be delivered both ways. You might be interested in watching our video blog  to get a better idea of the process your child's letter goes through! We are currently working to make this process much quicker as we update our old systems but it is a very manual process right now.

I don't see any letters currently on their way to you from Agatha but I do see that you should have received one at the end of January/beginning of February from Alice so I hope that you received this :). I am so encouraged looking at your account and how often you write! Keep it up and please know how much your letters mean to these kiddos. Because you sent your first letter to Agatha in December of 2014, you can expect to receive a response to that first letter sometime in the beginning of June or possibly earlier :).

How frequently letters are collected from the country office varies by project. Most collect monthly due to how difficult and long it takes to reach the office from where they are located. Some do collect weekly, but that is more of the exception.
