I have been donating from October of 2016 to February 2017 a sum total of $190. I don't have found out that funds received have not been accepted by the government and would like an immediate refund issued to my account so I can make a donation else where. I'm very disappointed in this program.

Hi Bobbi! I'm so sorry for the panic and confusion that has been caused with this situation. We are having issues with the government in India and will most likely have to pull our program out of the country by March 15. From the information I see in our system, you sponsor a child in Ghana and not India. Is that correct? The child I see is Phillipa Tawiah Ghartey. I checked on the child on your account and did not find that her church is unable to receive donations. Our program in Ghana is running smoothly, and the centers are receiving donations. Did you receive a communication about this? Can you give me more information or let me know if I have the wrong account pulled up?

As a sponsor who has kids in India, I just want to say too that this was made very clear to sponsors with Indian kids from Compassion at the start of this.  Indian sponsors were first asked (but it was a choice) to continue giving so that the money, when they would be allowed to send it again, would get to the children even if it was late.  When it became clear we would not be able get the money through to the kids, donations were automatically stopped so we weren't giving anymore and anything in that holding fund before, should Compassion have to pull out of India, it was said would either be refunded, put towards a new sponsored child, or given to one of Compassion's other funds, the choice being the sponsors.  It was all very well-communicated and Compassion has been fighting hard to be allowed to send donations to India again, even though it looks like that won't be the case now.  They've definitely not done anything to be disappointed in them (And no I don't work for them... I have kids in other countries too and there are no issues with the government and my kids are getting their benefits in those countries.)
